Hacking M3 Sakura/Real/iTouch Triple Boot

We're at least sure that hack isn't possible..
As for M3 Team, ofcorse they can do it, they can build the whole Sakura from scratch for G6, but the question is will they?!
There is still some work on Sakura to be done, and it'll probably require a lot of work for G6 version..(maybe they already work on it, and maybe they decided they won't do it..we can't tell until they release an official notice)..

i don't see how it would be alot of work for them to get it working on G6. they previous OS worked on both cards so i believe the hardware can't be too different.

All they need to do is factor in the neccessary code modifications for the g6 hardware and then swap the read/write code with the G6's.

Well, I really think it's a bit more complex than that..If it was just that, than a simply hack would be enough..
I think that Sakura uses whole sorting system different than G6 is able..so some basics of Sakura should be modify to work with G6..
I could be wrong, but this is how I understood that Sakura works..

I mean, it's all about the Team, I believe they can do it, but maybe they won't (I can't see the reason why they wouldn't), but it's all about them in the end..

i know you've brung up this file-sorting business a bunch of times, but i suspect you might be mistaken.

since when did G6 have a different file sorting method to M3? even if it did file-sorting is software not hardware related.

the internal memory shouldn't cause any problems, it just requires different R/W code.

I guess it is a possibility I'm wrong..
But people that had problems with running Sakura on their Reals had to format microSD to FAT32..Which means it works best on that sorting..
Now, if you try to format your card you have few possibilities to choose from, all of them have some differences in files sorting system..So by that I'm assuming that G6 might have a different file sorting method as it has internal memory..
I don't know so much about this to know if it's possible to simply modify it, I think it's much more work, because if it's simple, I don't see a reason why Rudolph/somebody else couldn't do it..

Of course, there should be more than enough info with just the patches never mind the hints too, though some disassembly would likely be needed.

Toni Plutonij: fat32 makes no difference to sorting. The only difference is that FAT16 uses 16 bit addressing and FAT32 uses 32 bit addressing, the FAT tables themselves are pretty much the same aside from a couple of struct items' size afaik. The main difference is that the binaries for the G6 seem to be an entirely separate build aside from the boot.* file.

Well, there must be a difference with the internal memory as the way it works is different than external..I really can't understand completely the difference, but I know they work differently..

After all that said, it doesn't make a difference, as the only people who decide of releasing a G6 supported Sakura, are M3 Team..
So waiting is all you people can do..(I personally don't own G6, so it's no problem of mine, but I would help all of you if I can in any way..

Well I've manage to get my M3 Real running sakura as i've always had and i now have it running the iTouch Euro/USA loader but now am working on trying to get it to run the M3Real english firmware but there might be a problem with files conflicting G6dsload.eng for the M3Real has the same filename as G6dsload.eng for sakura, but im gunna continue working at it.

I own a G6,

The only difference i can think of is that the firmware isn't looking for a external memory source (ds card) but the internal memory. Therefore i think one on the first steps we need to do is to find out the coding which makes Sakura search and open the external memory.

If someone already knows the differences in the older firmware than that may prove to be helpful for similarities of codes in firmware and applications often are reoccurring through out changes in software.

Yeah it works like a charm but now if we could only get the m3 firmware in english running but like i said earlier there's complications

*EDIT* UPDATE ok scratch that I got the triple boot running all English firmware let me test it abit and then i release it!!!

Did you change any files in the system folder of sakura? If you did just one file that is there and is corrupt even the slightest bit can send sakura to hell.

that error seems to be when you improperly overwrite an m3manager's G6load.eng with an m3sakura G6load.eng (example, using a patcher directly on the file on your microSD, or by copy/pasting with homwbrew filebrowsers.)

Can you release the english M3 Real hack for itouch as a standalone? With the correct batch files I guess, so it can be compiled with new versions of the firmware
