Hacking M3 Sakura/Real/iTouch Triple Boot

hm, i wonder.
did anyone try running commercial roms with m3sakura triple-boot?
m3sakura doesn't like having "odd files" in it's system folder, and will cause failures when either starting a homebrew or commercial rom.

Tried it, commercial roms work

(haven't tried homebrew yet).

But, these are just the normal firmwares, but now triple bootable

(and the iTouchDS is compiled so that it would work on a M3Real.)

i found out even the smallest things can mess up m3sakura.
1 plain text file that's 2kb smaller than it should be can cause problems.
or using a wallpaper when your skinfile collection is in the fat:\system\m3sakura folder

iTouchDS had a little graphical error in the intro of the new looney toones game.
But I don't know if this in the normal FW too.

There is nothing wrong with Sakura though, tested a few games, and they all work.

Why would you buy a expensive M3Real, if you can buy a cheap iTouchDS cart, which is able to do the same thing?!?

Why would you buy a expensive M3Real, if you can buy a cheap iTouchDS cart, which is able to do the same thing?!?

The price of the itouch can be increased by M3 at any time, they aren't silly. All that will be left are the ones on the market. (maybe i should place an order!)
We are selling them for nearly half the price of an m3 on our website.


As long DX dont start selling some $15 clone running the software.
M3 deserve all the sales - they broke away from R4 when sales where great, a lot of people bagged the M3R interface....now they have what many will agree, is the nicest GUI on the market.
M3 is at a good price too..not too pricey, but not dirt cheap.
They deserve to be on top for a while.

There is another version for the iTouchDS, maybe, if I have the time, I'll compile that one too.
The problem with the language is, that the batch programs that are provided at Rudolph's site, ask you for the .jp files.
Already tried renaming and stuff, but that didn't do any good.
Maybe someone can hack it, so that it asks for .eng files?
Or maybe Rudolph releases one himselff.

Yes. I saw that it required .jp files from the original firmwares, but say since it used the Japanese firmware files I assume it doesn't work with any other region cart? Or does this patch allow it to work?

Yes, this patch alows it to work.
I use a European M3Real

I've got Sakura working fine on the iTouchDS so far (review is coming tomorrow/sunday, finally btw

)

From the .bat files it seems like only the Japanese M3Real firmware can be converted for the iTouchDS. Rudolph will need to make an English version I believe (hope he does!)

I don't think that's possible..
Maybe if someone would hack the batch files (maybe im trying it myself), or if Rudolph makes an English one it would work.
But right now it's simply not going to work in English.

M3 sakura can easily be English as it's in the skin itself... but most of Rudolph's (or w/e his name is now...) require .jp or JAPANESE firmware files... so I don't think it can be English... although it is a boot file. I'm not too sure about this... All I know is that it wouldn't work in English right now...
