I'm using that guide everyone says is the 'best' guide for installing CFW, and I'm stuck on a certain step.

"Section IV - Restoring the System"
It says "If your backup is of a version between 3.0.0 and 4.5.0, do the following"
I'm not sure what it means by this. My N3DS is on 9.2 so do i skip this step?
and go straight to installing the FBI thing?

If you have installed A9LH, and it says "Sys 9.2.0-20U " in system settings, just update and then inject FBI

Okay, looks like i did it correctly. Now my question is.. can i update to latest firmware from here? I'm accustomed to Gateway and having to wait for emunand

Yes, it is. If anything happens you can always boot Hourglass9 and restore the backup. That's one of the beauties of A9LH.

wait, seriously? I can simply update firmware and still keep FBI and everything?!
is the file for restoring the NANDmin.bin?
Yes, seriously :) Welcome to the new world.
Yes, NANDmin.bin is the backup of your NAND pre-A9LH.

should i back-up post-A9LH? or if it gets messed up its better to just restore pre-A9LH
Hourglass9 will keep your A9LH even if you're using that back-up so you're safe.
Just back-up frequently afterwards to have some safeguard.

If you ever want to remove A9LH, run the SafeA9LHInstaller to un-install.
