Instead of installing all of the CIOSCORP files manually, why not just use the CIOSCORP installer from icefire?

and is this CIOSCORP v1, 2, or a mixture of both?

Didn't know he had one out. I just knew the old loader didn't work, if you could PM me a link I'd be most appreciative.

Hmm. I used the startpatcher4.0 and have cIOSCORP installed before I updated. Backups worked fine in teh disc channel when I was on 3.2 with preloader, but now they don't on 4.0. Would this help me?

I think it's because I installed CIOS36. I found it at the end of list of apps and I installed it. Anyway to get rid of CIOS36 if that's the problem?

By the way, my test was done with a Wiikey, no cIOSCorp needed for me.

Oh no, forget what I said. I'm terrified of removing anything at this point.

I though I had Preloader still installed, silly me.

I'm waiting out to hear more opinions, anyone with a NSTC Wii able to play other region games through softmodding using this?

im trying to install star 4.0 and i get an isfs_open error 106 ive got an ntsc wii with the lates version of cioscorp and im runing 4.0
@mr bublbes i just ment out of the cios folder on the memory card not off the wii i want to be clear

was that the 36 found in the root directory? If so, that is for when you install custom ios36 using the waninko installer (I included it in case you didn't want to use the network install)

Just reinstall 36 from the cioscorps folder and that should fix it.

Whos installer did you use to update to 4.0? Nintendo's, Waninkoko's, Icefire's, or nickasa's??

That could possibly be why. I had to install using the official Nintendo update just to get StartPatch to work.

Ok, I was on 3.2U, updated with official Nintendo servers, followed your guide (except I installed CIOSCORP with icefire's installer), and I can say that NTSC backups are running fine on my Wii through the disc channel

I would test out of region games, but I don't have any.

The only error that I am getting with backups on 4.0 that I didn't get on 3.2 is that when I try to start up MadWorld, it gives me a #001 error.

I think icefire is coming out with yet another new cioscorp installer that patches on the Wii itself and requires no WADs and uses the latest IOSes. This may Fix my #001 error :]

Madworld worked fine for me, played a level to test.

Screw it, I'm going to downgrade to 3.2 then upgrade to 4.0 and do this again.

i did this step by step i tried to start up homebrew channel and it went black and my wiimote went unresponsive please help

I did a 2nd install and no cigar. I didn't need to install star to check, all my USA region games ask for an update while it still doesn't read PAL and JP games.

I'm going to stick with 3.2 for the moment until this is cleared up.

Updated from Nintendo (since this was to find out if this method worked or not

Ciosrev8 & HBC installed running off 3.2U.

Found that I have the same problem as Mr. Bubbles.
No Pal or Jap games load...
Games Tested from disk channel but not gamma loader
Legend of Zelda TP (Pal) - NO
Mario Kart (Pal) - NO
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (Pal) - NO
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (Jap) - NO

All NTSC games tested worked with no problems
Animal Crossing
Naruto Clash of the Ninja Revolution 2
Rock Band 2
Guitar Hero World Tour

Tested Apps.....
MplayerCE with forwarder channel...Worked no problem

All VC/Wiiware titles copied and played on SD channel no problem at all.
All games that asked for update sucessfully blocked...


Dont have Madworld or HOTD: Overkill to try

Going to try it again....but this is what i found on first run thru...
Also this time I will try the Gamma Loader with Pal/Jap games
