Mario Kart ran under Gamma but did not force ntsc.
that was the only game I tested with Gamma as it was pretty late.

Installed 10 new VC/Wiiware titles from Wad Manager 1.3.....installed just fine and moved to SD card with no problems.

Glad to see I'm the only one who experienced the lack of region free.

If you ever want to get it back kree boy, it looks like you have to run the FIRST Cioscorp installation package, the one that included the optional Korean 3.2 install. You can't use IOS downgrader and install CIOScorp again.

I got such a headache but now I know that running that downgrader that has the Korean thing is the one you want to use to get back full region free backups through disc channel.


tldr; For those coming into this thread as long as you have custom 249 installed you can totally install this if you don't mind the lack of region free games.

It seems to be NTSC wiis that are having this region free hack problem... it's most likely an issue with startpatcher. I'll try and keep up on whether there is a new one or not as well as contact the author to see if there is any solution in the works. Thanks again to all my testers on that.


funnystory: Try running the homebrew channel again. There is nothing in my process that has any effect on it, and it's already been confirmed that updating to 4.0 has absolutely no effect on it as long as you don't try to copy it to your SD card (some people can play it fine from SD, other people have reported it being unable to load, that is why the guide suggests going to it straight away without touching anything in the new menu)

i'm about to test it, however i'd like to know what installing those cIOS will do to my wi memory... when you update to 4.0 does it automatically delete all of the previous cIOS' or is it just going to keep filling up?

well, tested.

seems to have worked perfectly

not one single issue with the cIOS installatons, the one game that i've tested works (pal on pal), SD menu is working as far as i know.

unfortunately i dont have any NTSC games so i cant test the region free... sorry about that lol

checked with any title deleter too, and i've got all the IOS required to play madhouse etc.

excellent.

my only question is, can i still install the custom menu i had previously now i'm on 4.0?

EDIT: holy crap sorry! triple post!! just wanted to say had a bit of a glitch up with the shop channel then, pressed start and it blank screened me and remotes wouldnt sync. however, turned off by holding power for 4 seconds, and presto, tried again and it works. thanks alot!
