Hello, I wanted to ask if someone had an .ini file for the 2018 Hori battle pad controller? I know that it should work on Nintendont but I don't know how to create the ini files.

1) Use a PC program to create the file: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-nin...ate-controller-ini-files-effortlessly.447303/, or if that doesn't work:

2) Grab an existing config file from https://github.com/Maschell/controller_patcher_configs, read https://github.com/Maschell/controller_patcher/wiki to understand the format, figure out the values for your controller using https://github.com/Maschell/hid_test/releases [Wii U] or the HID Test file from https://github.com/Maschell/HIDtoVPADNetworkClient/releases.

Preferably submit the config file to the repository or upload it here for anyone else using this controller.

I Hate to bother you but can you give a step-by-step guide on how to do this I tried following your suggestion and I got instantly confused probably due to my Aspergers I’m trying to get this controller to work:

We established that for whatever reason your controller(s) don’t show up in HID Test. Can you try the program that writes the config for you (linked to here and in your thread)?

I can try and explain the format of the file if you have difficulty with the description in the wiki, and maybe troubleshoot weird d-pad values, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to offer much more help with controllers not showing up - I don’t know what would make them work or not. I would expect the Switch controller to work, as they (well, official Pro controllers) are mentioned as something the Network Client (which HID Test comes with) allows the Wii U to see.

The first link doesn’t show where I can download the HID config wizard also would it help if I told that I tried the two HIDTESTS that are highlighted in the picture and the controller was never shown on it?

Hello, yes, I've been trying to create an Ini FILE this whole week but the control just doesn't work on Nintendont even with the values given in hid_test so idk, maybe there is something weird only with this controller on Nintendobt because it just doesn't work. I'll share here the file (RENAME IT controller.ini) if someone could check it to see if everything is OK.

Another weird thing about this controller in particular: if you plug it in a PC it will be recognized as a HORI BATTLE Pad - 0f0d_00dc (which is OK because this controller is a HORI BATTLE PAD), but, if you connect it to the Wii using Hid_Test, Hid_Test will recognize it as a HORI PAD SWITCH - 0f0d_00c1, so I don't know if this could be one of the reasons it doesn't work, but I'm not sure.

This INI FILE works fine on HID_TEST WII as it registers the buttons that I press, but on Nintendont there is no response.

yesterday i tried it in hid test on wii, i mapped it (everything but the stick since i don't know how to do them), put the controller ini file i did on my sd and usb and tried it in nintendont, nothing it doesn't work, i will try with your ini file and i will let you know

The sticks work different because they only need one value instead of two, check my ini for you to see how it works.
It will probably not work on Nintendont tho

Well, after trying different configurations from different sources and programs I could say that this controller just doesn't work on Nintendont.
HID_TEST on the Wii, HIDtoVPAD on PC, https://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-nin...ate-controller-ini-files-effortlessly.447303/ on PC, every single program gave me different values for this controller and its inputs, and I tried all of them with no luck in the end.
I also tried to use the "original" layout for the INI FILES used by HID_TEST and "Create controler ini files effortlessly", and the layout for the INI FILES used by "Controller Patcher": https://github.com/Maschell/controller_patcher/wiki but it didn't change anything.
Again, there seems to be a problem with this controller because in HID_TEST it keeps being registered as a HORI PAD SWITCH (0f0d_00c1) when its actually a HORI BATTLE PAD (0f0d_00dc), so maybe that is one of the reasons this controller doesn't work.

I'm going to share the different "controller.ini" that I created using those programs if someone wants to test them, and if someone does make it work PLEASE PING ME, thanks.

Damn... Who knows why this controller doesn't work when it actually does what it needs to, it's a shame I wanted to play some Fire Emblem lol
