I've been wondering, what's the longest chain of an emulator within an emulator? Like, you can run a PSP emulator on a PC and run an SNES emulator on the virtual PSP, and run some emulator that runs on the SNES and emulates a very primitive system (say, Chip8).

Computer VM's don't count 'cause they're not under nearly as many restrictions, I'm talking standard handheld and console game systems.

i ran a pocketnes zelda rom on my scdstwo...

(ds2->gba->nes)
Doesn't that quickly drain the battery?

Isn't there a way to run it through a nes emulator without gba?
yeah but i already had the pocketnes rom with my sav file and i couldn't be bothered extracting the save to play it in a ds emu
(also, it was mostly for the lulz

I thought of

Mac--> Windows emulator--> PS3 Emulator--> Wii Emulator --> Psp emulator--> DS Emulator--> GBA Emulator--> NES

PS3 is totally not playable on Windows, bullshit. Same for PSP on a Wii emulator.
Your chain is a fail.

My take on it is that it would be like powering an LED flashlight with a nuclear reactor. Speed and accuracy would have to turn crap really quick going that many layers deep in emulation, so it would it would make it appear as if the nuclear reactor was insufficient to power the LED flashlight.

I've never even thought of running an emulator within an emulator (all Inception-like) before. Talk about the ultimate

maneuver. Go deeper. Now that's funny!

You guys come up with some trippy ideas sometimes.

Doesn't matter if you've got the worlds most powerful super computer, if it isn't programmed right, it won't work.

Linux (x86-64) > Virtual box (x86) > Dolphin (Wii)> Visual Boy Advance GX (GBA) > Goomba (GBC).

I actually did that once
