I was wondering if there is a way to load an .elf file without having to go through the Homebrew Channel (no internet access on Wii) and without reusing the TPHack (only rented Twilight Princess)?

why not just put it on your SD Card??

do you have HBC installed?

without having to go through the Homebrew Channel

I think IMHO personally that is IMPOSSIBLE, but who knows maybe the Wii telepaticly can read your toughts...!!

AFAIK, Homebrew Channel can still be used without internet access - it just won't update, and programs that use internet (homebrew browser, IOS/firmware downgrader, FTPii) won't work. Other than that, it should be fine.

I have the homebrew channel installed and try to go through it but it said it couldn't connect to the channel...

what files are do you want to load?
if the HBC gives an error about invalid .elf file or something, you have to convert it to a .dol
you don't need internet access for the HBC (read post #4)

I can do to homebrew chanel while the sd card is in, I just can't go through Homebrew browser (says can't connect).
I am trying to load up the SDLMame emulator, and just trying to get it to work somehow, I have other emulators working fine, but this one won't read for some reason.

You do need an internet connection for the Homebrew Browser, check your connections in the settings
More info about SDLMame: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/SDL_MAME

I try to load Homebrew Browser version 0.2.5a through the homebrew channel and it says "Waitng for network to initialize..." then says "Unable to initialize network, exiting" then goes back to the homebrew channel.

What settings am I supposed to check? If you meant the internet connections I really can't do anything with that yet since I don't have the cable cord/usb converter or a wireless router.

Not to sound extremely rude since you were trying to help but in my first post I did mention I had no internet access through the wii.

you NEED internet connection for homebrew browser but the apps you want are for sure on wiibrew or dl.qj.net

Some sort of custom channel?

Or a DVD?
Bootable Disc Creator v3 might work for you.
But that's fol .dol files.
Maybe you can convert it somehow?

I would like to have a Wii Linux Bootdisc, but I'm unable to find a proper solution.
(info on this subject would be much appreciated)

I have a program to convert elf files to dol files, I wonder if Bootable Disc Creator v3 would work, where can I find this program, I tried googling it but no luck.

Dude, if you can connect to the internet using your comp, get them apps from wiibrew.

You're being a SUPER N00B.

Homebrew Channel loads Homebrew from SD Card/
Homebrew Browser browses homebrew apps through the internet

I admit I am a noob, however as I said I already have homebrew channel, and since I have not yet hooked my Wii up to the internet I was just curious about loading the elf files without the Browser.
And unfortunatly the HBC doesn't allow you to browse for elf files, but I'll try that bootable disc thing, thanks for the help, this noob appreciates it.

Well I converted the elf file to a dol file and used the bootable disc program and it didn't work. I just got a green screen then the Wii. Then again on the bootable disc program it mentioned something about Gamecube iso disc. So I'll probably just wait until I get my converter box and end up running mame that way. Thanks anyway for your help though, it is greatly appreciated.
