Sweet. We got used to having weekly releases of emulator updates and this past couple of weeks have been kind of slow (at least for DeSmuME and iDeaS, the two emus that seem to be showing the most progress running commercial roms).
This really shows some great 3D progress. Looking forward to iDeaS' 1.0.0.9 release.

Two updates so far today

First is iDeaS 1.0.0.8c and here is the changelog:

- Fixed a bug in palette settings
- Fixed a bug in texture management
- Fixed a bug in Z-Buffer management
- Fixed a bug in sprite 's tiles selection
- Fixed palette errors in Mode 3
- Fixed a bug in IRQ DMAs for ARM9 CPU
- Fixed a few bugs in firmware language selection (Polarium in Italian, yay!)
- Added an ini configuration file
- Added preliminary key customisation functions

And then Dualis R17.1

GPU: Fixed some errors in the OpenGL and Direct3D renderers when alpha blending was used
MMU: Added the 64 kB of GBA cart save RAM
MMU: Fixed mirrored 8-bit writes to WRAM
GUI: Added an auto update mode to the disassembler
GUI: Fixed some minor bugs in the disassembler and palette viewer

Before anyone notices, there is a bug in iDeaS 1.0.0.8c that I found right away. Run the emulator, change a couple of settings and exit. If you don't do this, everytime you try to run a game the emulator will crash.

So, run the emulator, change some settings, DON'T LOAD ANY GAMES, then exit. This is so that the INI gets initialized properly. Then everytime you run it after that will be just fine.

I think that just enabling audio can do the trick. Run the emulator and then select Options > Plugins > Audio > DirectSound Plugin.
I don't think it's necessary to exit the emulator but you can do it just to play it safe.
Enjoy the improved compatibility.

Thanks Lino

Seems like it's fixed now, my ini file was created as soon as I started up the emulator.

Anyway, trauma center gets into the operation and it's playable somewhat - I still didn't know what was going on though

I am unbelievably impressed. Not only does Children of Mana boot... It's now playable. The only bugs so far seem to be in transparencies and some tile problems.

Throw in save state functions and you'll have a fairly functional emulator here.

The visuals have been vastly improved, as can be seen in the menus of Mr. Driller. Still can't tell what you're doing in-game though.

I like where this emulator is going.

it's not playable for me...after the SquareEnix logo it shows the game logo and nothing happens

Have some patience, it takes a while till it gets to the character selection screen (I believe you also might need to press either the start or A button, dunno for sure though).
I tested it and it IS playable to some extent (a great extent btw)

which keys are A/start?
there's no readme file

Dualis 17.2 is out

CPU: Added a few missing LDM/STM instructions
CPU: Added MRS/MSR SPSR
CPU: SWI 3 emulation is more accurate
MMU: Fixed some timer bugs
MMU: Fixed some VRAM mapping bugs
MMU: Fixed handling of out-of-bounds ROM accesses
GUI: Fixed some bugs in the disassembler and memory viewer
GUI: Added an auto update mode to the I/O register viewer
GUI: DMA transfers can be logged to the debug console

yay

, at last i can post an update, it seems i got first to know:

Dualis 18 is out

APU: Added rudimentary sound emulation
MMU: Added handling of sound registers
GUI: Added a sound master enable option on the audio tab
GUI: Fixed a bug where multiple instances of the same dialog window could be opened at once

QUOTE said:
Only the PCM8 and PCM16 audio formats are handled right now.Sound mixing is currently fixed at 32kHz mono, so panning doesn't work. If it becomes too painful to listen to you can disable sound altogether through the gui or in the .ini file

i dont think commercial roms would now run with that emu, i did not bother downloading it

Dualis 18.1 just moving along

CPU: Modified the code for SWI 3-6 a bit
APU: Reduced sound latency. If this causes problems on slower computers you can enable a larger buffer in dualis.ini
APU: Corrected sound looping in most cases
APU: Improved resampling quality a bit (PCM8 only)
APU: Added a sampling rate option in the .ini file
MMU: Added support for the timer registers on the ARM7 side
MMU: Corrected mirroring at 0x3800000-0x3FFFFFF on the ARM9 when WRAM is split
GUI: Added a viewer for the ARM7 I/O registers
GUI: Added support for .ds.gba files (the 512-byte loader is skipped so they are effectively treated as .nds files)
GUI: Fixed problems with reading from the upper 32kB of ARM7 RAM in the disassembler

Sorry for sounding naive and clueless, but could you give me an example, in layman's terms, how these changes effect the games on the emulator?
