So, why can they not be bothered with the Wii U?

    Edit:
Looks like a Webkit bug, again. What is with Webkit being so broken?

It's too bad they aren't releasing the exploit to actually run Linux on the PS4, but at least they are releasing Linux. Now it's time for someone to step up I suppose.

Yeah, it's too bad the piracy side effect of their Wii stuff turned them away from the 'scenes'.

That's a dumb reason not to release stuff.
A byproduct of kernel access is piracy. It's (mostly) inevitable anyway.
Ninjhax was, and still is used for piracy on <9.3 but did smealum stop releasing userland exploits? No.

Cturt posted a nice write-up of his kernel mode exploit a while back so i'm sure support will come eventually...

Fail0verflow are in it for the challenge of hacking the console, not starting a homebrew scene or enabling piracy. They hacked the Wii U and moved on to a new challenge.

All the majority want is piracy so you have to respect them for not killing off a console that's not really doing too well by enabling mass piracy. It was pretty much proved it's all people wanted earlier this year when the public got a kernel exploit and the only real thing that happened is an ISO loader got released.

You need someone with passion to drive a homebrew scene like smealum is doing with the 3DS.

They got Linux running on the PS4, which was used to load a GBA emulator.

Watch the video on the site you linked to or in the first post here.

Dont get overhyped they are releasing the kernel patches not the exploit " Bring youre own exploit"

So not usable without a public exploit...
Cturt has a exploit for firmware 1.76 and im pretty sure that this demo is running for a firmware under 1.76

That is how the 3DS stuff started aswell, but look where it is now. Also loadiine could be tweeked a little to be quite usefull in the homebrew comunity.
