I haven't been downloading much music lately, and my version of LimeWire was old, so I downloaded the new LimeWire Pro and installed it... problem is, it won't connect so I can download songs and it shows a little firewall icon in the bottom left corner. It's pissing me off because LimeWire is the only program I know to downloads songs and I've tried everything to get the damn thing unblocked, but nothing seems to work! I tried turning off NOD32, I turned off the Windows Firewall, and I put an exception to LimeWire in all my other virus busting programs... anyone know what could be causing it to be blocked?

Try forwarding ports on your router

When somebody posts whats in my sig in a computer related thread I think opening ports is a bit hard. A bit of a long shot, but maybe your ISP has blocked the Gnutella network (I highly doubt this though). Try opening the ports that the Gnutella network uses

Have you tried the normal version out (I have never heard of someone buying the PRO version and you may have pirated it). Lime Wire LLC may no that it is pirated and is stopping you?

If you pirated the pro version, enjoy your spyware.
Limewire sucks anyway. If you can't figure out how to use torrents, you're better off not downloading music.
Torrents are REALLY simple, you search for something on a torrent site, download the torrent file, open that up in a torrent client such as www.utorrent.com then it'll start downloading.

I have Bear Share (On my other comp) and it's pretty good. It get's annoying when it closes itself (when you don't do anything on it for more and a couple of mins)

Abandon Limewire, I can't stress it enough how many people use Limewire,
If you don't like Bittorent
Try searching for your stuff at Link Removed

Edit: The link was removed because it had potential to be a warez link

Please don't be that way :\ I wasn't rude when I asked my question, I expect the same kind of respect when you're answering it. It's not that I don't know how to use torrents, it's that I don't want to download entire albums when I want to hear just ONE song.

I will try SoulSeek and FrostWire, and if not then MegaDownload. Thank you guys for your suggestions!

There is ways to find music via http with out the use of RS and MS (You will have to figure it out yourself as it is questionable in every way)

But as others have suggested SoulSeek is decent, but if you have to use "limewire" be better off using frostwire.

And you can download just 1 song instead of a whole album while using Torrents.

Also another alternative is DCC.

why not torrentz?

Torrents suck if you just want to download a few songs

Most of you are going to contest that statement but then again you probably don't know how to properly exploit the myspace generation
