I've used Soulseek for a couple years, and I can say that it's probably the best provider of obscure music, although downloads are more based off a 1:1 peer connection, i.e. there's a queue if there's more than one person in line downloading a file. However, I've had little to no trouble with using Soulseek, especially if I can't find any of the music I usually look for on G2P. Otherwise, it's G2P and Livejournal communities for me.

Wow... that site actually works pretty nicely. I found a remix to a song I really like (which I didn't even know a remix of it existed!) So far, this site has been my best result.

Regardless of if I know you or not, if you only like a few songs from an album and don't find the rest even worth downloading (let alone buying) your musical tastes are fairly limited, and thus you are most likely a bit closed-minded.

Go listen to some new music, expand your mind.

Well, while Mewgia is a little bit harsh he's basically right. If you only like a few songs by an artist you sure as hell don't like his music. Why are you wasting your time on something you don't like? There's tons of music out there, go find artists and genres you actually like instead of wasting your time handpicking a few songs that you barely can stand.

War: you should start using a different client. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling this one?

Here are some alternatives:

Seeqpod.com allows you to download songs.
I know on the iPhone version (via an app called dTunes), you can simply search and download the song straight to your iPhone, then if you like, copy it to your PC.

Playlist.com and imeem.com allow you to listen to songs online.

And best of all, torrents.
Just do a search for the band name + discography, download the best torrent, use your torrent program to select just the songs you want.

The torrent method works 100% of the time!
