I just got an older DSi from a friend who had been running it with (what I assume is a) fake DSTTi Gold card. It had been working, he said, until he fooled around with the system - I think he updated the DSi. It is now at v1.4.5U. Now the card gives an "error has occurred" screen.

The card is black with www.ndstti.cn across the top; TTDSi written diagonally across the center; the word GOLD in a gold burst symbol; and DSTTi For NDS/NDSL/NDSi written across the bottom. I haven't opened the card, but I can see a small portion above the contacts and the board looks to be green.

Like I said, I assume it's a fake. My question is this: I found this page - http://dstti.cc/index.htm - with DSTTI v3.4 updated January 25th of last year (2013) available. Would this be safe to run on this card? What is the chance of possibility that doing this would brick either the card, or more importantly, the DSi? If this is not the software I want/need, could someone point me in the right direction?

I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :)

You can not brick the DSi, but you also can not run the update on the DSi, because the cart will not run.
You need a DSLite or DSPhat to run the update. After that you should be set- assuming the update bypasses 1.4.5.

Uhm... you can brick a DSi.

Crap! I didn't even think about that! I may have a DS Lite I can get running to do the upgrade. I will try that tomorrow if I can find it. Thank you!

So will what I am trying to do brick anything? Or what are the chances?

Don't listen to Yedi69 in this case. He is a supercard master race user. He always seems to follow my posts :unsure: //obvious trolling is apparently not obvious.
Actually its Yepi, reading would be nice.

Also, I've had multiple flashcards even DSi ones, also I don't spend my life tracking your posts nor care about your posts, I was just here to correct you and help our friend here, thank you and good bye.

Alright, you win Yedi boy ;0;

The only way you can brick your DSi is if you attempt to modify the system via something link NDSLink, which even then, NDSLink has never actually bricked a DSi.
What you are doing will not brick anything.
