Left 4 Dead 2 has been refused classification in Australia in a decision announced by the Classification Board this morning.

You can see for yourself over on the Board’s website. The RC classification means Left 4 Dead 2 contains content that the Board deemed exceeds the guidelines for an MA15+ classification.

No details on what that content might be are available as yet.

We have contacted distributor Electronic Arts and will update you as soon as we can.

UPDATE: An EA spokesperson has told us they “are still working through the submission process with OFLC and want to explore all opportunities before making any comment.”

While this isnt confirmed the game will still be avaliable on Steam

Whilst this will stop legitimate sales from Australian stores and online retailers, it is unclear if this decision will affect items sold on Valve's PC based digital game distribution system Steam or from overseas based online retailers.

look at those high prices, pathetic speeds and tiny download allowences :'(

Telstra are communists, we recently switched to Internode whch offers;

- Same plans for cheaper prices
- Dedicated Steam servers
- no upload charges
- No excess usage charges

Telstra is evil which is no wonder its stock is so low

TPG is also a good one to use. You could also look at iiNet as they have unlimited xbox live downloads. Pretty nifty if you ask me.

I dont know. For $49.95, I get 80GB a month with TPG. They are pretty good.

On topic: I was really looking forward to getting this game but it seems I may have to import now. I do not see how killing zombies is worse than anything else we have killed in the last few years. Heck, with the euphoria engine in GTA4 and Star Wars:TFU, they have been (pretty much) normal people being killed with believable movements and such. An R Rating would be brilliant. I blame Michael Atkinson.

No, because the PEGI and ESRB have 18+ and M ratings which would mean both games would be released on time in both regions. Only Australia has no Mature or any sort of 18+ rating yet.

Only cause Telstra owns all of our telephone and internet lines.. If you have any trouble you have to call them to fix it.. So no wonder why they are popular.. Especially when a lot of people think its the best out there..

I use exetel.. Nice quota, pretty cheap.. Nice dload speeds..
