Gaming Latest firmware?

Hello, I was wondering what the latest firmware is. I am getting a psp soon which I will also be repairing but after that I do not know if I should upgrade its firmware or stay where it is right now because I was originally just going to get PSP games but some homebrews I saw were appealing so I am going to go both ways. Anyways tell me if I should upgrade it or not. 5.50 Gen D3 firmware. Is this compatible with almost everything?

m33 5.0 v6 is the one you need.
otherwise you will have issues with the prometheus patch.
the patch is - as i predicted, getting more updates than the plugin.

Where do I get that and how do I upgrade? What is prometheus?

I don't know if instructions are included in the download or not, but put the UPDATE folder in the PSP/GAME folder, make sure the 500.PBP file is inside, and run the update from the XMB. (For M33 or GEN; the principle is the same)

From the title, I thought you might have been asking about OFW (which, by the way, is 6.30)
