Who are you?
Do I know you?
How long have you been on the temp?
Have you made many friends here?
When did you become a global moderator?
Are you likeable?
Am I likeable?
You don't actually have to answer that, I was just fooling around:
What is the single most detestable element of capitalism for you? The fact that it teaches people to lack compassion.
Who is the single most detestable UK politician, besides Nick Griffin? My most hated UK politician of all time besides Nick Griffin is Margaret Thatcher.
Who is the most interesting "historical villain"(i.e. Hitler, Stalin, etc.) for you? As bad as it sounds I find Hitler and Nazi Germany fascinating. Not his ideology, and not even him particularly, more all the events surrounding his rise, the way he managed to make a whole nation look the other way and things like that.
What's your favourite idea from Marxist ideology? The idea that everyone has a minimum level of equality when it comes to health, wealth and education and that all education is a right, not a monetary privilege.
What are your thoughts on the future of European Socialism and Welfare? I think it's going to go through a collapse and a rebirth. I think as American style capitalism takes over countries like the UK it'll cause a collapse and when the people realise all the things that they've lost to it there'll be another demand for it, although it'll be rethought with a new strategy. Europe is too entrenched and used to socialist ideals/ideas to completely go over to American style capitalism.
What are your views on democracy and the dangers of a weak democratic government? I think democracy is the way forward and the only way to have a truly free country. But the way democracy works as it's set out at the moment isn't really democracy, it's a watered down version which allows big business and corporations to have all the power. When we're at a stage where the people themselves vote on things rather than a single representative for large sections of the population we'll see actually see changes in society. The problem with a weak democratic government is that it allows corporatism to take hold and it puts a country in a position where the people become easily led and allow the government to dictate their needs rather than the other way around.
Do you think a secular government is achievable (i.e. secular in all 3 branches of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary)? I do indeed! Although it can't be achieved while religion is still allowed to dictate policy and education rates are low.
What are your views on the liberal-ness of the society today towards issues such as sexual promiscuity and street demonstrations? I have no problems with sexual promiscuity and street demonstrations are a necessary part of freedom. The problem is the actual street demonstrations and demonstrators themselves. When they use violence and vandalism as part of the demonstration it detracts from the message/point and I think being over-liberal towards that kind of demonstration is detrimental.
What are your views on stem cell research and the morality of it? I have no problem with it at all and think it could benefit mankind greatly in the future. Although like all scientific research of that nature it should be tightly monitored and regulated.
What do you think is the single most disgusting thing(i.e. a set of ideologies, an organisation, a trend, etc.) in today's society? Fascism, racism and the political ideologies of religion.
What do you feel about Richard Dawkins? I think he's a very clever guy but he can be pretty pompous and sometimes he's not as smart as he thinks he is. I've seen him stuck for answers when debating with religious questioners on a few occasions.
What do you think is the most effective budgeting stance a government should take? I think the people and the government need to work together to produce and effective budgeting stance. I think people should complain less about having to pay taxes but the government should take more responsibility in how those taxes are spent. I think a country needs a certain amount for it's upkeep and that upkeep is everyone citizens responsibility.
What are your views on taxation and what would justify high tax rates for you? I think taxes are necessary. It's no different than paying to keep your house in good condition, your car in good condition or your computer up to date. Alot of people don't see how important it is because they can't see further than their own wallet. There isn't alot that could justify high taxes, but making sure that the people have good welfare, health care, safety and education (including free university) would be a pretty good reason. All these things are important for a productive and happy society.
Do you think the Keynesian notion of increasing government spending during a recession(i.e. expansionary fiscal policy) would help us in the current "lesser depression"? No I don't, because usually that spending goes on ensuring big businesses keep their profit margins up. If the money was being spent on education, retraining and the like then I'd back it wholeheartedly.
How much of the national budget do you think should be put into social welfare and social security, and what would be the ideal extent of a social security net's coverage? As much as possible to be honest. Nobody should go hungry, cold, homeless or without a good education and health care.
What are your views on religious organisations being treated as charitable organisations, and given tax exemptions like them? I don't think they should be given any tax exemptions at all. Although I would allow them their tax exemptions back if they could prove that their particular god actually exists and that their particular is the creator of everything. Using dusty old tomes written millennia wouldn't be good obviously, it would have to be indisputable physical evidence.
How's your health Dave, what happened? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohnoes.png" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="D:" border="0" alt="ohnoes.png" /> They're not entirely sure, still got some more tests to go through. It's old age creeping in basically. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Do you think you could recover and we could carry out world domination? Of course, not only could - WE WILL! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/grog.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

" border="0" alt="grog.gif" />
If not, could you pass over the command of your army? NEVER!
After I conquer the world, what should the name of my empire be? Land of the Rising Trolley?
Should I enslave anybody? All religious leaders, terrorists, corporate fatcats, investment bankers, economic hitment, republicans, democrats, tories and fascists.
Should I kill anybody? See above.
Should I take many many concubines? As many as possible!
Should I knight you? Never! Then I'll be one of the type of people I hope to eradicate! lol
Should I destroy you, since you have a strong ambition yourself? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/evil.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

" border="0" alt="evil.gif" /> You can't win, Dom. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.
Do you like Dr Who? (I expect a yes, you can't be a true British if you don't like Dr Who!) But if no, you can just skip the other questions, and I'll be disappointed in you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohnoes.png" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="D:" border="0" alt="ohnoes.png" /> Of course I do!
And lastly, who's your favourite Doctor in the revival series of Dr Who? (Mine is David Tennant <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />) I thought Christopher Eccleston was the best, followed by the current bloke and then David Tennant. They've all been pretty good.
Would you want a TARDIS for yourself? Who the hell wouldn't!
Do you think you would be a good Doctor? Describe what your Doctor would be like(i.e. quirky aspects and fashion sense) Nah, I couldn't be dealing with all that running around! Although if I was a doctor I'd probably have the fashion sense of Tom Baker and the wonderment of Christopher Eccleston.
Oops, I think I typed a little too much, you don't actually have to answer all of them and I don't expect you to. At least answer my last few questions(about world domination and Dr Who)! Of course I'd answer them all! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
