I think I have most aspects of the game figured out [I'm up to the tenth stage], but there are some things I'm wondering about.

1. What benefits are there to the transoul process? When is it a good or bad time to transoul a unit?
2. Is there ever a time in the storyline when there won't be any provided units in the battlefield and you have to use your own permanent allies? Will there always be a key item in every battlefield to be used in the next one to recruit a unit?
3. Will we always have 26 turns to finish a battle, or will this gradually decrease? Has anyone ever encountered any difficulty with fitting in the amount of turns?
4. Is there a way to go from the storyline battle preparation screen to the start-up game menu? Because, you know, that would make leveling between story battles so much more convenient.

Also, to those getting a low amount of damage per hit: I think it's because you're using only the weapons, not the skills, as previously pointed out. Don't release the stylus immediately after dragging a weapon over to a unit; hold it down until the skill activates [this happens when all the attack squares appear and "solidify"].

BlueStar: Yes, I think that's how you solve that problem. It makes sense, in any case.

I'm not too fond of this game. I loved Yggdra Union, so I thought I might as well give this a try, but it's just too... cluttered.
Don't get me wrong, the gameplay works well, and it's original and fun, but between beating up enemies/obstacles, dodging bullets, changing phases and all that, at the end of each mission I'm still thinking...

What the fuck did I just do?
I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who'll love this, as it's solid enough, but I couldn't get into it.

(Also, the TEENY TINY scroll bars at the sides piss me off immensely. Way to fucking tuck a 2 pixel wide scroll bar into the edge of the goddamn screen, sting.)

the battle can easily be compelted below 26 turns and no
i already play till chapter 10 and the turn still has yet to decrease

LOL you get a few months away from the forum and you find some awsome game! I've been in forced retirement thanks to some thief who took my bag and my DS as well. Now my baby is back (as soon my friend finish the Phantom Hourglass) i must get this game.

Watching the videos you can realize how difficult can get with those bar and wisp here and over there, seem like is one of the most impressive game of the year.

You have 26 turns? I guess that's what they give you on easy. I usually have between 8 and 10 turns each time.

As for Transoul, it's mainly for raising your level cap for your units. Eventually they'll hit their limit, and you'll either need to transoul someone into them if you want to keep them and continue to raise their level, or them into someone else so that another unit and continue to level up. You also get a VIT and stat boost for it (and possibly level gains!). Just make sure their LOY(altiy) is high. Just for the hell of it, go into the transoul thing next time, and when you hold down on a unit, hit the digital pad. You'll see a stat growth chart. Some units have a nice steady incline of growth, while others hit a high point and taper off. Just remember, even though this should be obvious enough, transoul causes the unit losing the soul to... wait for it... DIE. So yea, don't do that with someone you planned on keeping.

I don't know about provided units. It may be different on easy, but on normal I usually get someone to help, but not every time. But the game even says if you don't have many knights, it'll provide some nameless ones for help.

New question: Was using a knight, and I know they can move, but how?

LOL that's what I was wondering...
One of the creature thingies was out of my attack range and I just stood there, not knowing what to do.

The knight's attack is a charge, so do a standard attack in the direction you want to move.

If you're talking about the guys on the horses, just switch to the red mist mode and do a regular attack (not one of those where you drag an item to the unit... just click on the unit and drag em somewhere) that will make him move. Hope I helped! (Sorry for the horrible explanation too)

Yeah, it has to be in chaos mode. Same with Duelists. If they do an attack in chaos mode, they jump one square ahead. If it's in the blue mist mode, they just do a stationary attack. (I think)

That hardest thing to keep up in with in this game is recruiting characters and getting all the weapons/items. Most of the time when you break an object you will receive a key item for recruiting a later character, but if you wait for them to respawn again they will usually drop another item that you can give to a NPC in a stage that will give you a rare weapon usually.

pyrodead: The easy mode has given me a steady twenty-six turns for the first ten battles. [I was reading a book the whole day, so I'm still on the tenth stage. >>;] I hope it doesn't taper off, though. While I'm not that intent on getting all the key items for the units, as I don't particularly want to have to maintain a whole stable of them, I'd rather not have time pressure added to the current chaos that the game is.

I nigh always have nameless knights drifting in and out too. That, along with the recruitable knights on each map, so I think we'd see a surplus of units than aught else. It makes you wonder why you even have permanent units in the first place, but I suppose it's for when you want a particular class that isn't provided in the battle or by the nameless knights.

Thanks for the transoul information, though; I'll experiment with that later. ~

I must say this game comes in second in my best games I've played on the DS list. I'm only up to the 5th stage or something or other, but it has me completely hooked. I usually hate games where your characters can die; I always end up not playing them because I don't want them to die.

I stall, and just sit there for 45 minutes planning one move. Then my pegasus rider dies, and I turn it off. (Fire Emblem) The fact that they give you random knights is brilliant though. It means that even if my team dies... I can keep playing. So it's brilliant.

I was hooked the moment I was going onto the title screen, and the Knights in the Nightmare came up. And then the girl's voice just goes, "Knights in the Nightmaare." Just how she extends that syllable the tiniest bit... Argh. Brilliant.

Waiting for an Australian release so I can go in and be shafted by EB Games for an $80 DS game.

Beat the game on easy, only to find out that none of the harder difficulties were unlocked!

I'm requesting anyone who has beaten the game on normal or hard to upload their save, because I do NOT want to beat the game a second time on normal. A hard cleared save would be even better because then I could attempt nightmare difficulty.

A friend of mine poked around with the save file and it appears to have checksum checking. Changing even one byte makes the save corrupt. Therefore, all I can do is ask for a save or wait until there's a cheat code to skip levels.

(By the way, the art book is great stuff. Easily worth the pre-order)

How long did it take you to beat it? I'm at 7 hours, Act 2x.
