If I don't want to use CBHC, because or BRICK risk, will I then each time have to connect to the net, or the files linked on my computer? Every time??
You can just use haxchi, the only difference is you'll have to click the haxchi icon each time you turn on the wii u. It's basically the same as cbhc but it doesn't autoboot. No website or files required

No brick risk if you want to use this option

you won't have to do that if you have haxchi. however, with haxchi, you have to boot it up each time you turn on the system. you don't have to with cbhc. you're in cfw at boot up.

OK, that's fine. Thus, with HAXCHI, I just need to start HAXCHI it up each time I boot the Wii U. But after the initial install, I won't need to connect to some network linked file, right?

CBHC is just a cold boot method for HaxChi. Like everyone has been telling you over and over, once you have HaxChi you don't need to go online or link to a local file. You just either boot and then tap HaxChi or you set it up to "tap" HaxChi for you with CBHC.

Moving on...thus, Mocha & Haxchi are basically the same? Besides Mocha is needed for a redNAND backup if I'm not mistaken.

...sorry, bit off my own topic.

mocha is just another cfw. you can use redNAND with it, yes. that's how I have my redNAND setup in case I want to play around with system files. :P

it's not necessary to install 2 haxchi titles. the config.txt will automatically load one by default and you can load a second app with a button press.

Not when I installed it. I've had it since it was released (pre-CBHC). You had to download a .zip file containing an .nds made for specific VC game back then.

as have I. actually, you could use a config.txt back then as well. you had to use wupserver to install it though which was very slow especially if uploading images like the boot screen for the tv/gamepad. the config.txt didn't take very long though. I'm not sure how long ago you're talking about, but I used haxchi close to when it was released. the zip file you're referring to is rom.xip and had to be uploaded with wup server as well. the config.txt goes here for internal storage:

Code:
storage_mlc01/usr/title/00050000/YOUR_GAME_TITLE_ID/content/config.txt

btw, the rom.zip goes here:

Code:
storage_mlc01/usr/title/00050000/YOUR_GAME_TITLE_ID/content/0010/rom.zip

change mlc to usb to get that location. this is based on wupserver commands. :P
