Hey peeps!

Each day it looks like our GameCube controllers are becoming more and more obsolete. so I'm proposing three concepts that hopefully we can shop around to any contacts we may have and get something going.

Concept 1: GameCube to Wii Remote Converter Adapter
This idea would probably be the best and easiest considering this one only forces the player to buy an adapter and not an entirely new controller, leaving their old controllers still useless.

Concept 2: "GameCube Classic Controller"
someone could simply make a classic controller with the GameCube button setup. I'm pretty sure that some factory somewhere still have a bunch of GameCube Controller shells lying around. Why not use those to make GameCube styled classic controllers? Also this allows for WiiU players and New Style Wii owners to be able to have a GameCube type controller when playing with their GameCube Games.

Concept 3: "GameCube Pro Controller" and GameCube styles WiiU Gamepads
Purely for the WiiU crowd but a Pro Controller shaped like a Wavebird or a WiiU Gamepad with the GameCube button setup would kick so much hiney!

Concept 4: Use the Gamecube controller with a Gamecube console?

There are many of us who still think that the GameCube controller is the optimal gamepad for classic style gaming. Sure, it does not have clickable analog sticks but I love the fact that I never have to look down to know which button is which. It's perfection!

No doubt there will be 3rd party Gamecube controllers for the Wii U just like there are 3rd party SNES/NES controllers for the Wii.

I'm indifferent, its a good controller but unlike SNES/NES I can see games playing as well with the Pro Controller if that controller is well done plus if Nintendo does reissue these games onto the Wii U, they would take away the on screen button like Wind Waker has and just replace them with Pro Controller buttons anyway. I can easily adapt to change.

Anyone remember this video?

Neat stuff, but I disagree with that guy about the N64 stick. I wouldn't want a Gamecube stick in my N64 controller ... no way. I can see where the GC stick is "better", but the N64 stick is more accurate, even if it does wear out eventually. That's why you need a stash of these::

Nice stash! I just emailed the site owner of www.infiniteneslives.com and asked him about the possibility of making a Gamecube to Wii Remote controller or at least selling the schematics. Hopefully I will hear from him soon.

i liked the gc controller, but honestly i think it should be nothing more than an optional buy. the whole point of the console is the controller and it even man come with another controller for thoughs who dont like the controller. what more could you want.

It sounds like he means purely as an option. The Wii U supposedly will have gamecube games on it's virtual console, but if true you'll be forced to play with a controller with a considerably different layout than how you remember playing on the gamecube or Wii.

I see no point when the Wii U Pro Controller is almost exactly like the Gamecube one, the obvious change is the Analog and Button placement.

The Wii U Pro controller is NOTHING like the GameCube Controller

Are you out of your freaking mind?! The two controllers have a totally different feel. Have you even held a GameCube controller? The button shapes alone makes a huge difference.

I refuse to play Smash 4 if something like this doesnt hapen.

I actually liked the shake smash controls of the Remote/Nunchuck combo but I understand your sentiment. I refuse to play any incoming GameCube virtual console or emulated game on the WiiU without GameCube support.
