maybe this is something everyone knows but i just noticed you can hot swap ds games while the system is on in the main menu and the system doesnt crash. the icon for the cartridge just goes to gray like nothing is inserted and when you put the game in it shows it. i booted it and then switched it to a flash cart and it shows up as a cartridge with a blank label if you try to run it it tell you to power off but this is probubly how the dsi flash carts will have to be booted im assuming. because after you put the flash cart in it wont tell you to turn it off until after you try to run it.

Is there any real reason for this change in the DSI?

Probably just to make the menu feel nicer - it looks a lot better if you can change round DS games on the fly and it detects that than having the DS crash when you try to swap them.

For example - how would you feel if on your Wii you had to insert the disc before you turned it on, and if you ejected it while it was on it just crashed.
