Okay, so I was patching a patch from Noitora.
I was patching a .UPS patch with tsukuyomi to a clean, un-trimmed ROM.
I chose "Apply patch to an existing file", browsed for the UPS, then the ROM, and the clicked Apply Patch.
Then came this box:

To directly patch source file, a temporary file is being made.
Upon successful patching, the target file will be replaced with this.

Applying patch file 'C:\(Private sorry, destination is correct though.)\xs1.ups' ...
Reading file 'C:\(Private sorry, destination is correct though.)\Xenosaga I & II.nds' ...
Target file is 'C:\(Private sorry, destination is correct though.)\Xenosaga I & II.nds.utm' ...
Patch application will take approximately 1 minute(s), 4 second(s).
Please be patient ... UI will not be responsive during this time.

Failed! Input checksum is invalid.

How do I fix this?
I tried to "Apply Patch to A New File" and I triedto bypass the checksum validation, but I got a corrupted file.
Help please?

Ofcourse bypassing checksum is a bad idea, it basicly detects if the file it's expecting to patch, or if it's a different one.

Get the exact right rom you need with the same checksum.

you sure you used a clean rom?

Yup, I used a clean ROM.

...What?
Sorry, I'm not really good with these things.

the errors and problems you get usually only happen when you don't use a clean rom.

the bypass checksum is bad to use, since that's when the patcher checks if you are actually using a clean rom.(better said, the exact same rom as the creator of the patch)

I am having the same problem right now, did anyone ever fix this issue or find the "right checksum" rom?

I got lucky, I checked the bypass checksum validation option and it worked!
