Hacking Just got r4i gold today

I just got the gold r41 cart today and I can't seem to get it to work, I always get the "Power off" message.
The 3ds updated this morning to version 5.1.0-11U. I believe I am putting the right kernel for it from the site that is printed on the card r41ds.cn. Not really sure what to do from there since I can't get pass the "Power off" message.

You shouldn't have let your 3DS update, because 3DS updates block flash carts. The thread shows how to get past the block.

need run the update in a ds lite like a game before use in a 3ds is a readme in the file you downloaded

It doesn't have to be one specific model, even another 3DS would work if it hasn't been updated too far... but good luck there, as Nintendo did a good job convincing people to update each time.

Got it from https://www.ndsgamer.com, but I ordered it Monday and there was two updates that my 3ds installed since then, so kind of got screwed. Though the http://www.r4ids.cn website says the last firmware they put out should support it.

You should just, you know, not update the 3DS. Turn the automatic update/download settings in the system off.

r4i gold 3ds(www.r4ids.cn) can support 3DS5.1.0-11.
Be sure the website on the sticker of the card is www.r4ids.cn , not r41ds.cn

Seems the your card you bought is not the most recent revision (better get it from their authorized resellers), is there a "RTS" on the sticker?

Nope, nothing like that on the flash card. Nds was a authorized reseller of the card as the website said

You'll need another DS to update it.

you can check the number on the PCB board. it's fine for the "6", "7", "8", "9", "c", "a" to update to the latest veresion.

Exactly, I'm stuck with the old first batch of bad "Rev C" cards, and WOODR4 says it's "Rev B". I can only go as far as 1.4.5U on DS, and 4.4.0-10U on 3DS. I've had it less than a year, and it's already not supported anymore because the "patches" the website releases don't work when trying to flash the card. I also bought mine from NDSgamer.com, but it seems they mostly carry old stock.
