So the DS can't emulate the n64 as it uses a slower proccessor or somthing. But does the n64 have enough power to emulate the ds?

Now I know that would be stupid as the ds has a touch screen and a microphone and stuff... But I was just wondering.

As with most "Can X be emulated on Y?" questions, the answer is usually yes. Now if you want to modify the question to "Can X be emulated AND BE PLAYABLE on Y?" then that's where your answer is going to be no in this case.

Pretty much this. Writing a DS emulator for the N64 would be an amazing accomplishment in and of itself, but there is no way in hell it would be playable. The hardware archiecture is radically different between the two, not to mention the N64 is severely limited in the RAM department. So yes, technically anything is possible.

But physically and logically.... it ain't?

May I ask what logic there is in emulating a handheld on a console that was released many years before the handheld? I would understand if you were to choose to make the emulator for the Wii, but for the Nintendo 64? That's some out-of-the-box thinking.

Also, in the first post, YoshiInAVoid says there would be a problem with no microphone. If I recall correctly, the game shop in my town was once selling a Nintendo 64 controller that had a microphone built in.

Neither system has enough RAM to hold a commercial game ROM from the other (small homebrew programs and demos, maybe). So emulation probably isn't possible.

How come if my PC is 32bit it can emulate almost everything, but my n64 is 64bit and it can emulate nothing?

Because your PC was previously owned by Charlie Sheen.

If your N64 cant easily emulate at least two PC's you are doing it wrong.
