I'm surprised that Guitar Hero DS is doing so well.

A big brand can do a lot for the sales of a game, you can expect big sales for GTA too.. and anyway, Guitar Hero on the DS is pretty good, played it lask week.. the guitar grip recreates the feeling from the console game pretty well..

Wow. Sales of the DS hardware are still a lot stronger than I thought. Interesting.

Thanks for the info Twiffles.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the one DS game that has to be experienced properly as a retail package is the highest selling DS game. It even broke a record for the highest sales in a week. Being a popular name and not being able to play properly without the guitar attachment pretty much cement it's spot ahead of other DS titles. I get the feeling developers/publishers will start to push for more peripheral packaged games.

My biggest shock/disappointment is MGS4. It dropped like a rock after the first month. It looks like every PS3 owner bought it and few more bought bundles and that was it. I wonder if it will make any difference to other publishers making PS3 exclusives or will the console eventually fade out. I was planning to get one, but I'm still on the fence now. It just feels like it's bargain bin bound.
