Hardware JoyCon Update

It won't affect you... It will only affect who permanently soldered the joy-con or use like a metal tape between pins inside the joy-con (permanently shorting them).

I modded my joy-con with a ON\OFF button at the bottom, but after entering RCM and even before sending the RCM payload I already have the button in the OFF position :).

Just do the same as me, after you put the Jig and press power + vol+, just remove the jig and send the payload, so after loading OFW or CFW they won't ever detect you are shorting the pins...

I actually reliazed that I was updating the right joicon and I removed it in the mid of the updating proccess.Should I do it again and let it finish?

I don't know exactly what improved with the update, I my self still haven't done it, but its kinda annoying that everytime I boot to emunand it asks me to update the joy-cons and having to press later all the time ;)...

It might have improved something on the joy-con, so you should probably just do it...

Even if you plan to mod your joy-con, you should do it the right way by either adding a On\OFF button like me (which I can tell you its a HUGE hassle as there's no space at all inside, I wanted it to the side and had to put it to the bottom and still barely had space for the button I added); OR the best way is to easily mod the detachable joy-con pin with a small click button glued at the bottom or use a magnetic switch and just use a small neodymium magnet to activate it.

This is way better than using a jig as you have to constantly be removing the joy-cons from the rails and it will wear a lot more the pins (from both joy-cons and console rails) and the crap plastic fit of the joy-cons so at some time they will stop snapping into the switch and will be loose (you can also buy them cheap on ebay or upgrade to a metal one, but that would also wear more the rails of the switch so I would use the softer plastic my self).

If anyone wants to downgrade their joycons to a non short block update let me know. I have backups of my joycons and got it tested that they can be downgraded via ANYONES backups. You just have to change the serial number to yours via hex edit.

If the pins are permanently shorted to 9+10 the joycon will only work in bluetooth mode and I believe it wont charge anymore
How can I backup my own joycons firmware?

Yo, dude.

I recently restored my NAND and am planning to be legit from now on, but I'm still paranoid to connect it to the internet.
The reason is that when running CFW I updated from 5 something to 7 something. And I think the joycons updated as well.
So I was wondering if that could be a ban risk and if so, is it possible to downgrade their firmware?
I also used the tinfoil method if that matters.

Hi,

I would love an old firmware dump for the right joy-con mate
