Japanese Training v0.7
Handwriting Recognition Improved
[2113]japtraining.PNG
Version 0.7 of the Japanese language training application for the DS, Japanese Training.
A lot of improvements have been made with handwriting recognition.

Version 0.7 (2008 March 21):
------------
* Handwriting recognition :
- more stable (less freezes)
- 245 ideograms stored in the database, need to improve my drawing though :-)
- use append/replace to modify the database
- use LEFT, RIGHT, L, R to navigate
- use compare to practice your handwriting

The R4 gives the error "could not initialize libfat". According to the readme, this means you may need to DLDI patch, but since the R4 already does this... hm. Oh well, I guess no Japanese Training for me. Too bad, as this was showing some nice progress.

too bad, its Kanji's are in french.

Good for Costello.

Is it still in french? if so, it's not very useful for other people than those who knows french, or those who needs to learn kana

Does this really teach you japanese ? O_O That would be too good to be true!

Well, I highly doubt it does really. Sure it quizzes you on some kanji and kana. but it doesn't teach you grammar etc. (Unless it's changed dramaticly since the last time I used it).
And to get a little off topic here: I just found a program called TeLL me more Japanese... kinda expensive, but it's the best PC software i've found so far teaching japanese

Just thought I migh share that!

I tried using this program to learn some more Japanese, but the Kanji part is translated into french... Hopefully this will be fixed/added as an english option soon!

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
