Hacking Issues with Hekate

Im currently following the nh-server.github.io guide to get CFW on my switch. I ran into an issue with Hekate when trying to make the emuMMC. My touch screen wont work. I can sometimes click the top tabs (Home, options, etc.) but that only after I sit there and tap it many times. I cant get any of the buttons to work on the main screen.

This is my first time using CFW on the switch. Do I need to use Hekate? How would I go about creating the emuMMC, NAND backup etc. Is there an alternative I could try?

Its worth noting that my touch screen works fine when playing a game or at the home screen.

So I do have my Boot 0 / 1 and rawnand.bin now.

I bought this switch used and it came with a scratch on the screen. When I test the screen almost all of it works except for one small section. Its not even really noticeable when playing games. Could this be the reason I'm having difficulties. Should I go ahead and order a replacement digitizer and screen just to be safe?

Like I said earlier I can use the buttons at the top menu bar but nothing below that works.

You might have to start over. It might be something with your files getting corrupted.

Do some Googling...maybe SXOS is the fit for you if nothing else works.


Just for me, could you please get a spare MSD, google "underprivileged shop", set those file up on your MSD and try again? Seeing as you already have the NAND backup, you shouldn't have to worry tooooooo much.

Don't forget the 5.1.1 on your computer and MSD.

Alright so I started over with everything. I just basically followed this guide: https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/

1. Injected the switch with TegraExplorer and formatted the MSD.
2. Copied everything over to the MSD card that the guide says too.
3. Injected hekate 5.1.1 and cant do anything other than touch the top menu bar.
4. Turned switch off and downloaded the underprivileged, the under pack.
5. Copied the files over and tried it and nothing different happened.
6. Formatted the MSD and copied everything over again.
7. This time I downloaded the AtmosUpack and copied that over.
8. I can see the background of hekate changed but that was it. Still no touch.

At this point I think I will look at SXOS in more depth and see if that's something I want to do.

Does ReiNX use sysNAND or emuNAND? I dont really want to touch my sysNAND if at all possible.

Ah, shit, my bad--before you go too far, try googling "underprivileged shop" and see if that works.

While you do that, I'll check out something that could be better for you.

Wow, forgot you can't actually save even if you do get to auto since the touchscreen may be fucked.

I think there's an alternate way to enable autoRCM, but I don't use autoRCM at all and wouldn't want to get you bricked if something goes wrong (I forget the exact way to brick it, but it's possible and pretty specific).

I ran out of spare MSDs, so I can't clean install rei (I ran out of space everywhere, so I can't even save the files to my PC (from the MSD to replace them, mainly Tinfoil and Switch folders).
