Hi. Last night, I went to go set up the custom firmware on my N3DS LL. I used the Soundhax method and barring some issues where a file was not read properly, all of which were fixed by deleting and reinstalling the problematic file, everything went smoothly.
Now, I see FBI wasn't installed, so I try using Godmode9 to install it, no dice. Next, I try using the HBL method. FBI appears, both files in the correct place, but when I went to install it, an error message pops up saying it can't read the file. I try reinstalling the file and it still doesn't work. I read that it could be an issue with the card, so I make a backup of all the files, format it, then put the files back on.
The Luma menu and Godmode9 are still there but the HBL (Installed it on the data app) is gone, and I can't access the Rosalina menu. I wondered if it had anything to do with the SD card which was working initially but the N3DS stopped reading it once I formatted it. It took a minute to figure out I had to reformat it to FAT32 (I have no clue why it was working initially unless it was already a FAT32 and I formatted it wrongly). It reads it now, but the Rosalina menu is still gone.
I looked in settings and it said the card was corrupted and I had the option to initialize it (I didn't).
Extremely frustrating to say the least. I'm stumped on what to do and if anyone can help me it would be very appreciated. Could the NAND backup fix this?
(By the way, the firmware number I updated from, Ver. 9.8.0-25J which updated to Sys. 9.8.0-25J) changed to a Sys. version starting with 11 after the issues with the card started. Does this affect anything?)
EDIT: NEVERMIND
Homebrew Menu came back. Issue was that the SD Card wasn't initialized properly, everything works now. Got custom themes and games installed with no issues. Rosalina menu is still gone but I don't care.
Apologies for the dumb post.
