Just bought a new used Wii so I could softmod it and play SSBM iso with Ocarina codes off an SD. But apparently everything wants to not work. I can run melee iso, I can load everything, the softmod went fine via ModMii and everything. Everything works fine, except nothing wants to load a god damn .gct

I've tried USBLoader GX, cfg, WiiFlow, and Dios Mios Booter. Nothing works. It will either crash and not start the game at all, or just load the game and have no codes apply.

This is the .txt created by codemgr:
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

Really starting to get annoyed at this. I've tried every possible directory combination I can think of for placing the .gct. Nothing works, and everything I've read so far says it should. My SDHC is 64kb cluster size. The best I've gotten, is in WiiFlow you can download some absolutely useless codes that I've learned are from the WiiRD website and they work. Nothing else works, nothing else seems to detect a .gct file. Fucking nothing.

How do I load a simple .iso and make it work with a simple .gct.

If you are using DIOS MIOS Lite, you need to add a file to enable cheat code.

    SD:/sneek/kenobigc.bin

Would you be more specific please?

    SD:/kenobigc
    SD:/dm_booter/kenobigc
    SD:/Dios Mios/kenobigc
    SD:/games/kenobigc

Which of these is it? Or is it a different one?

    SD:/sneek/kenobigc.bin

if you really need a tutorial to put a file in a folder:
    1. create a folder on the root of your sd card named "sneek"
    2. download the file kenobigc.bin
    3. place the downloaded file into the newly created sneek folder.

    You now have
    SD:/sneek/kenobigc.bin

Thank you for the clarification. I was confused because I've spent the past two days reading everything I can on getting this to work, and not in anything I have ever read so far has there been a mention of a folder called SD:/sneek. Also on the link itself for the .bin file you posted, it says to put it in SD:/games. Nor has there been any mention in any of the Dios Mios Lite or Dios Mios Booter documentation I've come across that has mentioned there being a file necessary to get Ocarina codes to work. They all just say press B to get to options and then enable cheats.

But I will do as you have said and see if I can get this to finally work. I cannot fathom why this is so damn difficult. Then again, CFG can't even read a .txt file properly, so I'm starting to think all the developers for these homebrew apps are just incompetent.

[Edit] Nope, doesn't work like everything else anyone has ever suggested. Woo hoo.

sorry, I don't understand your last sentence.
you mean it still doesn't work?

Cheat code should work fine now that you have the kenobigc.bin in the sneek folder.
if it doesn't work, try with another game. Maybe the issue is your gct file for SSBM.

I'm having similar problems, and joined specifically because of this issue. At the moment I'm using USB Loader GX. The Loader sees my GALE01.txt file and successfully creates a GALE01.gct file from it (or at least that's what the loader says). I got the kenobig.bin file and put it in SD:/sneek/ (I also put it in a few other places just to be sure). But when I load Melee, no cheats. I've tried changing the hook type in global settings and messed with a couple other things. When I start the game I've gotten 3 results: a black screen and the wii freezes, the wii turns off, or the game loads normally with no cheats. I too have scoured the internet for a solution and have found nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, Jazriel, I found that CFG Loader wouldn't read my GALE01.txt file until I deleted all blank lines from the beginning of the file and formatted it to Unicode (UTF-8). It didn't get the cheats running, but at least it began to see the .txt.

What are your settings? There must be a difference between our setups or mine would be working.

Use gecko1931 Cheats manager.exe (If you don't have it, use that name and Google it) to create the codes and place them in SD/codes/GALE01.txt

boot up cfg usb loader and

    Ocarina ; on
    Hooktype; vbi

boot game and they should work.

It never worked. However, the hack I've been trying to run has been updated as a .dol mod: http://smashboards.com/threads/the-...alt-stages-costumes-p2-action-toggles.351221/ I've (FINALLY) been able to get this to work. My issue now is that DIOS MIOS is unreliable when it comes to loading ISOs from anywhere. Most of the time nothing happens, but sometimes... maybe once every 6 tries, it magically loads and everything is great. So why is DIOS MIOS being unreliable?

because your drive is randomly unreliable and provide incorrect data to DIOS MIOS.
Some HDD work fine, other work randomly, other don't work at all.

Use DIOS MIOS Lite and SD Card to have the best experience.

It's not loading from the SD card at all, so I'm assuming I don't have DIOS MIOS Lite. Where exactly do I get DIOS MIOS lite? I can only find the normal version of DIOS MIOS 2.10. Or does v2.10 include both somehow? I've only ever found one wad file to install, and that's v2.10 that I'm using now.
