Hello, I have a bit of an issue with twilight menu, and subsequently nds-bootstrap.

Issue :

Upon loading twilight menu, and attempting to launch ACWW, I get a nds-bootstrap splash screen. then, a black flash in the top screen. and then solid white on both screens until console is force shut-down, or when returned to 3ds home menu.

Steps to produce issue :
  1. I installed latest Luma3DS CFW twilight menu
  2. I backed up my childhood copy of ACWW using godmode9.
  3. Back up my save using TWL Save tool
  4. put backed up rom in sd://roms/nds/.
  5. and put backed up save in sd://roms/nds/saves/.
  6. launch ACWW from twilight menu
My Atempts to fix :
  1. put twilight menu in DS mode
  2. put twilight menu in DSi mode
  3. put twilight menu in arm7 mode
  4. put twilight menu in arm9 mode
  5. put twilight menu in DS mode & NTR clock
  6. put twilight menu in DSi mode & NTR clock
  7. rerun ctr-notimeoffset in HBL, because of possible system time issue i've seen in an other GBAtemp thread.
  8. I've also tried all above with Forwarder3-DS.
none of these steps seemed to work

Any one got any suggestions?

It could be because your console DS functionality is broken. Also, if your actual Luma version is outdated. And finally, it could because a TWLMenu outdated version too

I would try the steps listed above. That being said, is there a reason you're playing Wild World instead of New Leaf on the 3DS?

@izder456: Sorry, perharps I could misunderstood your exactly problem with TWLMenu and that game :wacko:

Have you checked if that game is compatible with ntr-bootstrap (on compatibility list)? And what about if you change the "reset slot-1" actual state option?

it looks like its compatible (i made sure to check before backing it up) i'll try that option. currently updating twilight menu with universal updater.....

nostalgia, it was my first ds game.

Well, TBH, I don't exactly remember what option is related with that I said, but I believe there's some similar one.

On the other hand, check this out: https://github.com/DS-Homebrew/TWiL...creen-when-trying-to-load-a-game-from-sd-card

And finally, try to make again the cart dump to discard any kind of corruption or fault on the dumped .nds file
turns out my allocation size was 16kb and not 32kb so after backing up, reformatting and reloading, it worked! thank you for your help!

@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

im taking a break for today anyway

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
