If you want to keep downloading, get a Rapidshare premium account and find a forum that gives links to "material" You can't get caught that way.

id depends on what kinda of Provider your on ..

I got in Crap way back when i was Video editing. and sending Edited video back and forth from school (Befor Enclosers where around) Scuzzy drive at school.

i would send raw video ranging upto 4GB just for 1 cut cant remember the Size to time ratio but it was like 10mins or maybe 15..

i was on Cable .. they cut me off after 300GB Down in less then a month .. think it was 150GB up
they told me i could not be on there line cuz i was degrading it for everyone elts. Since Cable u share with who ever is on the same nod i think it was..

as for My DSL .. i have a 15mb line .. with no issues .

I'm sure I won't get one for torrenting masterpieces such as Ninjabread Man and Anubis II.

If you can call it a torrent...80 MB scrubbed...

if you use torrents, dont download from public sites...private only
try -snip-
awesome community. they enforce the ratio so don't leech!
I use newsgroups...

I guess we've been lucky here. I've NEVER received anything from our ISP about any of the warez I've DL'd over the last 10 years or so. And I've DL'd terrabytes of crap over the years.

I'm not sure, but I think it has something to do with the fact that ANYTHING I download doesn't go to C: drive and NEVER has. It either goes to a secondary storage drive or a network attached storage drive. Every PC we have ever had always had a secondary storage drive or 3 in it. Maybe I've just been incredibly lucky, I dunno.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I agree with others that you should just play stupid and not admit to ANYTHING, and that your Mom should NOT say that a minor did it either. That will just get HER in trouble. Maybe even confuse the issue by saying really stupid stuff like, "I watch gameplay videos on YouTube a lot, is that illegal?"

Or be like, "What was it that we were supposed to have downloaded that was illegal? A Wii game?!? You mean it's possible to download them instead of buying them?!? WOW! I didn't know that!" Har-har.

Do to think they will sue or anything? I am going back to buying games, this is kinda like a wakeup call for me.

unless you are rich, and i think not since you are pirating lol, then it would be too costly for anyone to try to sue you for the little money that you have...
you wont get sued....no way...

What will a hacked modem do? The ISP was sniffing the traffic he was sending/receiving.
Oh and hi little bunny from Watership Down with 1000 enemies:

Anyway, I've never got a letter so far.. but the thought of getting one scares me. o.O;
I just got Peer Guardian as mentioned in this thread, but then I hear it's false security.. >.>;

I have two internet services at my house (long story). I was downloading some games and thought I was connected to my personal Comcast connection, turns out I was connected to the WOW connection. So, a couple weeks ago, we get a letter saying that I was downloading illegal games. I checked the games they listed and it turned out both were from TPB.

So I just stopped going to TPB and made sure I'm connected to a proper ISP before I start downloading. I'll admit that Comcast has all but squashed my upload, but they've never thrown me under the bus like WOW did.

No links to warez please, remove it immediately! Everyone here has their own sources anyway.
I guess that was about the link in my quote.. well it's gone now. >.>; Can't say the same about the original post.

newsgroups with SSL FTW!!!

but seriously if using torrents, like it's been said private communities. And maybe peerguardian, but I don't think it helps with your ISP seeing what you are doing....newsgroups with SSL on the other hand....
