Is your 3DS banned?

Given there is total less then 30 votes so far (trolls included), I think it's fair to say this ban thing is not really widespread. The other main post makes it look scary.

in the "scary" thread, there are ~15 banned users.

Gateway user, 9.5 emuNAND. I've been using the MGS3D public header for quite a while, maybe since beginning of January and up until the 15th, in which I purchased a copy of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call and started using the header I extracted from that. I have yet to be banned, although I've only been online for maybe 5 Smash bros games total, other times for Bravely Default online updates, Fantasy life about 3 times to play with a friend, and maybe once or twice for Pokemon Y wonder trades, so my online use has been quite minimal, if anything much at all.

Tsk. No bans using .CIA files or private headers yet.

Whether this proves anything depends on how common those are. If those are rare, it may be that 15 bans without one happens just by pure chance. (Imagine that 1 out of 30 people used exclusively private headers. If so, having 15 bans without a private header would mean nothing.)

What is the rate among everyone of exclusively using CIA files or private headers? Is it much greater than 1 in 15?

I don't know. I've only ever used private headers online personally. Also possible these bans will come in waves and that this one is over for now. Also possible a ban only occurs if two consoles using the same public header are detected while connected to online features at the same time.

We're not likely to get a sudden burst of new, confirmed information on this any time soon, if at all. Just play stuff online or don't, but at least be cautious enough to use private headers or .CIA files if either is an option.
