Hardware Is this screen broken?

Hey guys, something happen to my Switch, maybe some cat or my toddler bumped it and now the screen looks like this even though it have glass screen protector + case. I'm pretty sure that we are talking about broken screen, but wanted to ask for 2nd opinion before I order a replacement...

It's likely that the screen needs to be replaced.

A little isopropyl on the screen connector and ribbon cable and maybe some compressed/canned air might help. Otherwise yeah, could be the screen itself.

Definitely looks like the cat did it. It would look much worse if a toddler damaged it. There would be liquids involved.

In a more serious note, the defect reminds me of when I had a TV on top of a refrigerator in our garage. The EMF the refrigerator put out impacted the tube in the TV. Yes, this was some time ago. The TV then had permanent damage that looked similar. I’m wondering if magnets were involved. Large speakers have large magnets. Could be just the screen, or the digitizer as well. How does the screen react to input?

On a good note. If you have to replace the screen, that would be good reason to change the front and rear shell of the tablet. That’s what I would do anyhow.

Cats also can cause a lot of damage. My cat pushed my phone into the sink while I was prepping veggies. So, as you say, 'liquids were involved.'

One new screen later i can confirm that the old screen WAS broken
