Yes you are correct, but the beautiful thing about the human brain, is that it can hold two contrary ideas and have an argument for both cases.

Thank you for welcoming me.

Isn't anarchy opposition to all government? And socialism is a type of government. I'm confused.

PS welcome.

I believe Anarchy IS opposition to all forms of government. It also opposes law, order, and any kind of authority as anarchists view these things as opressive. Anarchy is a self-defeating concept.

Though, there are pseudo-anarchists out there that use a watered-down definition of the term, and simply believe that there should be no government and that society ought to be based on individual responsibility and 'complete liberty'

There are also many subdivisions of Anarchy, such as Anarcho-capitalists and Anarcho-collectivists, etc.... It's really not enough to say 'I'm an Anarchist'

I thought anarchy was the absence of government...

Anarchy is a sub-category of Marxism, as is Socialism. Although the schools of thought argue and differ both of their roots are in Marxism/Communism.

And Monkee mate, you forget to add that you have impeccable taste in tunes!
