I have Two DSTT's and a R4, both cards are great. The fact that makes the dstt so likable is for 1 the price is great. and also the support of sdhc.

Contra does work with the lastest firmware download on there site.

tested with a few cards & the dstt is the fastest with all 3 cards
1. kingston sd-co2g Japan
2. kingston sdc/2gb Taiwan
3. Generic sd-co1g Japan

People who have no problems whatsoever are less likely to start a thread

And it's only been out a month so people might be waiting for first impressions to wear off before deciding how well it performs. Over here the memory card arrived yesterday and we're setting it up tomorrow morning so I'll see how it goes.

hmm well my friend has a dstt and i have to say its pretty good if you just want to use it to play games and are looking for a cheap + fast loading method.

i dont like the dstt that much because of the fact that moonshell isnt natively on already and you have to install it. I like how the R4 has it already there and a seperate button to boot in moonshell mode. I also like the supercard ds one how the moonshell is integrated to the os already so you can play music on the fly without booting moonshell.

since the R4 is kinda out of stock right now with dealextreme i guess dstt is at an advantage. M3ds real kinda loses this battle with the dstt because of costs. and supercard ds one has well gone unnoticed ever since its rocky release last december with the scdsone v1 flashcart. (i currently own a v1 and a sdhc version and i must admit all the problems have been ironed out.)

contra works for me
the dstt is faster than my m3 ds simply & way way faster than my scdsone

I am using a 4gig SDHC Sandisc and two hours in no problems..

Also being a DS newbie this may be old hat , but the unit goes to sleep if the lip is closed and it works WELL from within DSTT !

What do you mean? And it's not that bad. I use it. It came with my DS. It's not that bad, it's pretty good actually. At least it's not as completely ripped apart like the r4. Just use YSMenu and it's perfectly fine. Or Moonshell2 or DSision2.

The DSTT isn't a bad flash cart and for some people might even be the best choice, particularly for children who can't navigate folders very easily. But compared to other flash carts in its price range, it lacks the most basic features, like sorting the games alphabetically and being able to navigate folders, the loader is updated very infrequently, and its menu is laggy when you have a large microSD card. YSMenu fixes some of these problems at the expense of a very basic-looking menu without good support for the stylus.

In short, for most people there are much better flash carts out there for about the same cost, like the Acekard 2.

If you have a microSD card that is under 4GB, formatting with FAT16 (which the Panasonic formatter will do automatically) will help, but won't fix the problem for larger cards.

Just to add to this - If you REALLY want a flashy graphical interface instead of YSMenu on a DSTT (or DSTTi)- you can use DSision2 (if you use a SD card 16Gb cards)

[To tell you the truth - the Moonshell & YSMenu2 combo seems to be much more compatible to the latest ROM releases than the official DSTT Firmware]

Also - whereas 'Bri' seems biased towards the AK2 (I say biased since most posts like this one, 'Bri' mentions the AK2 more often than others IMHO), I rather support the DSTT(i) with Moonshell2+Ysmenu combo (I will admit that I do like the AK2i interface though)

This is mainly because from past experience I've had several game sav and ROM compatibility problems with my AK2i (regardles of which firmware I use [AK2 or AKAIO]), while with the DSTT(i) I've had no trouble at all (once Moonshell2 & YSmenu was set up properly that is)

It really is down to preference whether you can call the DSTT bad or not.
