Nevermind, I must be forgotten. Just learned that Splatoon 2 isn't supported by cloud save,

I just want to find if other games with single players are affected by cloud save, so I'm skeptical about Nintendo's ability with cloud saves, but as for PSN cloud save, Sony didn't care about hacked saves for single player. Feel like uncertain about do with my new Switch (3.0.2) but awaiting for CFW support before I can update to 6.2.

    I did this one time:
Boot to your CFW, backup your save with edizon/checkpoint
Boot to your OFW, put airplane mode run homebrew only one time to restore your save

Reboot your switch to OFW disable airplane mode
I did run HB in OFW only one time to restore a save like 4 months ago and I'm fine, never been banned

Yes, exactly, that what I'm planning to do that but I have to wait for CFW to support 6.2 before I could download the game update and DLC from eShop, so right now, I'm stuck as wait for status with CFW on 6.2. It took too long than I thought.

    I did it this way:
    • Backed up save from hacked console with Checkpoint
    • Put legit console in flight mode
    • Take NAND backup
    • Boot into CFW and restore save(s) with Checkpoint
    • Take another NAND backup
    • Open the save-injected NAND backup with hacdiskmount
    • Copy the specific (console signed) save files for the games I want (I didn't copy them all)
    • Open the original NAND backup with hacdiskmount
    • Overwrite the existing saves with the new ones
    • Restore the original NAND backup, which is essentially the same, except for the 1 or 2 save files you've replaced.
There should be no evidence that CFW was ever run, as it never was under the original NAND backup.

No files should have changed except for the save files you replaced, which are properly signed by your console/Horizon.

Unless Nintendo stores some kind of metadata to detect that the save file(s) have been modified since the last shutdown and current boot-up (which they may), it should be pretty safe (and if they don't already do that they'll know after reading this...). It's the safest way I can think to do it, however it's certainly not ban proof.

LibHac is also able to sign saves, I also did it successfully for a modified save, it requires a bucketload of C# knowledge though currently.

The thing is that he restored the save from a banned switch on a second switch, and he needs homebrew to do that. I don't grasp how he now blames the ban on the savegame, but not the occasion he used cfw and homebrew to restore it?

If I understood the posts correctly (maybe not, I was skimming), he first got a game-only/Splatoon-only ban, and only later did he get a console-ban.

So if that was the case, then the save file would really be suspect.

Can confirm, on my hacked switch I got a splatoon only ban, then superban. On my switch I transferred the save to I only have a splatoon ban, not a full console ban.

Wow I really appreciate all the responses! I'm definitely gonna do this. I'm assuming hakate is the safest to launch HB menu with?

No, see the act of backup loading will get you flagged, but the game file that's being used is essentially the same file either way (a cart save and an xci/nsp save are all interchangeable and connected to title ids). The means to load them isn't. So the save is fine if added properly

    — Posts automatically merged - Please don't double post! —

if you go online at all with cfw enabled (going to homebrew counts) YOU WILL BE BANNED inevitably. The only reason Hekate works (and only for backing up and restoring) is because rcm boots before the nand. if you use hekate to load homebrew of any kind and you will be flagged

damn, it would be great if hakate could inject saves via rcm.

This is literally the best reply I have ever read in this forum, as far as from a technical perspective is concerned.

I had dreamed up doing this -exact- method to get my hacked d3 saves onto my ofw clean nand for online play, without using checkpoint, etc, but im lazy and havent taken the time to research if it was actually feasible. Your post now gives me reason to actually do it soon.

    Thanks!
