So, latest status is safe but people using the quick-launch menu on Tiramisu should disable quick-launch?

(What would happen if one would keep using quick-launch?)

Ok, first this, how are you using Netflix on the WiiU, Netflix was cut off like over a year ago. Is there a way?

Second, I think I just discovered something else 5.5.5 changed.... maybe?

I had my console on 5.5.3 for like a year and a half or so after 5.5.5 came out. I had it DNS blocked and it showed the download for the update as failed in the Download Management thing. However, I was able to use the Youtube app and log on to the Nintendo Network just fine. Never had a problem with this failed update download in waiting, wasn't forced to download it.

However, this new 5.5.6 update came along (well after I updated to 5.5.5), it showed in Download Management as failed download, like normal, but my console suddenly would not allow me to do anything involving being logged in to Nintendo Network, it logged me out and wouldn't even let me open the Youtube app because it wouldn't log into the Nintendo Network. Instead, it said something like "you must update to log into the Nintendo Network". Forcing you to have to download and install the update, regardless if the update was DNS blocked.

As soon as I turned the console on, it had me logged out of Nintendo Network so it immediately popped up this message while trying to log into it as well.
I think you got me wrong, when I said they fixed Netflix lag I was referring to the last update before this one, even before Netflix was discontinued for the Wii U (the update came after the announcement that they would discontinue for the Wii U but before they actually discontinued which made it strange that they fixed the lag and crashes in the Netflix app ), there is no way to use Netflix on the Wii U right now.

Although there is a homebrew called Wiiflix for the original Wii, but it's not exactly ''cool'' if you know what I mean.

I have Cold Boot Haxchi CBHC. With auto boot on and it worked. However after updating I did run into problems with games that have dlc installed. Those games have to be reinstalled on external drive. I am able to play online games with no issues.

fyi everyone, it appears that the system will say that there's an update available, even if you're autobooting. it will say you're on the latest if you try updating in this state. point being, don't waste your time disabling autoboot unless you receive this message, because an update is unlikely to exist for your region. it says something about online play cannot be used unless you update your system every time you enter the home menu iirc.
Since you posted this comment has there been any update on whether other regions apart from the US have to download this update? If not any clue as to why it was only the US?

Also while I'm here I might as well ask for future reference if I have my Virtual Console Wii games downloaded onto my SD card I know I can't play them from the SD and that they have to be moved to the console hard drive itself but am I supposed to move the VC games to the built in Wii or the actual Wii U hard drive to play them?

depends on if it's wiiu or wii vc. they're different. as for why they require an update in the US, I have no idea. maybe a change to the ToS?

The same "to use the online services you need to update the console" message, appeared on my Wii U, so I disabled Tiramisu's autoboot option and just updated the OFW to 5.5.6 without any problem, actually the wiiu.hacks.guide mentions that Tiramisu supports 5.5.6 OFW, so updating won't break it. And it didn't, after updating the OFW, just reenabled autoboot on Tiramisu and also installed Aroma. No issues so far.

Have to say Aroma is awesome!

Just to confirm a UK firmware patch for the Wii U hasn't been released and might not be?

Also as I'm still new to the Wii U how do I play my Wii VC games? What part of the hard drive do I have to transfer a game to so I can play it. Wii U or VC Wii?

I just updated my Wii U and lost my CBHC but still have Haxchi so Im asking if it still worth reinstall CBHC or go with Tiramisu and Aroma? I need good adivsor here thank you

Never Mind I just went ahead updated to 5.5.6 and lose my CBHC. Reinstalled CBHC and everything went fine again. Cheer :)
