Not really. It's mainly for N3DS.

if you run the exploit , you can access gateway menu , and from there there is downgrade option

So far I have not seen any benefits for 4.x original 3DSs so I'm staying put for now.

The ability to dump and restore a save to a cart is new. It's there for use with OOT but can it work with other games? It would certainly be useful for old-3DS users to have a way to easily dump and restore a save.

A downside would be you'd have to have your Zelda cart with you at all times. Unless, of course, you plan on keeping your 3DS in Sleep Mode, which I wouldn't recommend.
