No, but there's homebrew like Swiss that will let you boot backups from a SD card - although compatibility on it is kinda bad, the most popular games work well.

The only way to boot Swiss is with a burned Disc on a console modded with a modchip, or booting it with a SD media launcher disc succesfully "softmodding" the GC without any modifications. You'll also need a SD Gecko that goes in the Memory Card port to get the GC to read your SD cards.

It'd be a lot easier with a Wii as that's far more portable and has an SD port by default, as well as NGC controller ports (the original Wii models with where NGC-compat).

Getting a hold of a Wii NGC-BC is probably cheap nowadays so no reason to go through so much when Wii can do it all in a breeze.

They are cheap, just yesterday a bud of mine picked up a wii and wiimote for $35 at another world (gaming shop)

If you set the Wii to the Homebrew Channel you don't even need a Wiimote at all since it's controllable with a GameCube controller.

Wii's a slimmer version of NGC pretty much.
