You could also try dolphin (wii emulator for PC) and whatever windows screen recorder floats your boat. I've never messed with dolphin personally though, and I'm not sure how well it would couple with a screen recorder. A capture card is still your best bet, albeit not without investing in one which I understand you were hoping to avoid

yeah, my options are pretty limited by chrome OS, so that rules out dolphin. and i cant use a cap card cuz most of them have some windows software, so im kinda in a corner with this one, USB loader GX has a screenshot option for GC, does it have it for wii games too?

Theoretically you can use the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S
Yeah... but Elgato Game Capturer HD60 S is limited only for HDMI-compatible consoles.
He should buy a Wii2HDMI adapter or an adapter for convert AV or component cable to HDMI.

Anyways, for buying a Elgato HD60 S, here: https://www.elgato.com/en/game-capture-hd60-s
Wii2HDMI: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072BBX4M2
A good AV to HDMI: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RX69KR8/
A good Component to HDMI: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VJ9RP6/

Wow, I forgot the Wii didn’t have HDMI, I guess after using a PS3 for so long I assumed all consoles of that gen had it.
maybe you can use the Elgato with the Wii2HDMI Adapter?
