I know that know you can install the custom dlcs without it. I've tried it and it worked flawlessly but I'm guessing this is recent. I wanna know if there is a way to install them only with homebrew launcher and not cfw.

Thanks in advance

No, it needs signatures to be patched...

there generally isn't a way to get free anything without cfw.

aside from demos, of course.
Anyway i see birthright conquest and revelation as dlc, i thought that was the game. :wtf:
if you buy, for instance, the birthright cartridge but want to play conquest, you can download it through the game as dlc for a reduced price.

The custom DLC characters are stored in the extra data, which doesn't need CFW to modify. There was a point in time where the custom DLC units were only obtained via custom firmware. You can't install the actual DLC without CFW because it needs signature patches in order to run, which you can get with CFW. Either buy the DLC or don't get it at all.

I see, I'll look into cfw when it comes out for 11.3
thanks for the reply

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik

    designed for only specific hardware

so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source

At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
