ROM Hack Is there a NSMB DS powerup maker?

Hey guys.
Just wanted to know if there was a patch maker for New Super Mario Bros DS that would let you add a power up and adding a chance of getting it in the Mushroom House?

Custom powerups would require major knowledge in assembly.

Actually, it is technically "possible" to make custom powerups, there just isn't an easy way (that I know of) with an editor.
You can do them with knowledge in C/C++ and some ARM Assembly. There is a hack called ASMB that employs an ASM hack to create a "flying shell" powerup like NSMBU. The rest of the hack was made with NSMBe from www.nsmbhd.net . I would take a look at this. However, you probably don't have the skills to pull it off as ASM hacking takes a long time and requires experience with programming and ARM assembly...
