Is the 11.17.0-50 update final?

I'd like for it to be the absolute final update the 3DS is going to receive (as most of these new updates are just exploit patching), however maybe Nintendo will still release something after years...

Do you guys predict that there'll be a 11.18.0-51 eventually down the line, or will that be the final version like Wii 4.3 or DSi 1.4.5?

Probably. Since they shut down the online services, I would be very surprised if they released another update.

I just hope they don't randomly release an update that removes all the online functionality (stubbing the friends module and parts of act, for example).

Stubbing the friends module would be a deliberate and malicious neutering of certain LAN functions.
It would be very "You Will Own Nothing" anticapitalist of them... which come to think of it is on-brand for modern Nintendo.
