I'm thinking about getting a Switch Lite just for Zelda, Odyssey and Fire Emblem. Anyone with hands-on experience? Are there many distracting slowdowns with Lite?

Well, it's cheaper so I thought it's better to ask...
The cheaper price is because you are basically paying less for fewer of the Switch's features and a smaller system. Otherwise, Nintendo has used pretty much the same chipset across all variations of the Switch. There are some minor differences, but the CPU and such are the same.

Mario Odyssey has some levels where you need to feel the ground vibration to tell where a moon is. The switch lite do not vibrate, so you will miss that. Everything else for those games you intend to play is just the same as the handheld mode of the regular switch.

The only difference is the non detachable joycons and the inability of send video to monitor(TV) the rest of the console is exactly the same of a full one.
The Switch lite also doesn't have HD Rumble has a smaller screen and has a smaller battery that is 20% smaller. 4310mAh on the Switch and 3570mAh on Lite. And there is about 2760 Switch games that don't work on the Switch lite.
