Recently I've been doing this thing called telegram hamming which is essentially a scam where you "sell" other peoples debit card and credit card information. However I just send random info after the purchase is made. I've made 80$ doing this in the span of a couple hours and normally sell a debit card for 15-20$ is this morally wrong? Cause yes I scamming but the people I'm selling the information too would be stealing hundreds to thousands off innocent people I'm just stealing 15$-30$ from people who are trying to illegal buy debit card and credit card information.

Eye for an eye, I say. If you're gonna hit a scammer, hit 'em hard so they can't scam anymore, or don't even bother.

(And just so we're clear, I'm not advocating violence, I'm suggesting you lighten their wallets so they can't scam anymore.)

Yes, you're actively contributing to the problem.
How am I making the problem worse? In reality it would make them less likely to scam if they keep getting sold fake cards? Thats what the cia did with illegal content on the dark web. Just flood it with scam pages and honey potsm

Thats what the cia did
The problem here is that you are not the CIA. You are a citizen committing a crime. Whether that crime is against someone who also commits crimes is not relevant in this case. That is however legal and not moral.

I would certainly raise an eyebrow if your moral justification starts with "but the CIA did it". But morals are opinions, and my opinion is that these acts make you no better than the others doing them, regardless of the target. At the end of the day, whether it's morally right in your view is up to you.

"What I do is morally right because CIA also do it!"

You mean same CIA that raids "problematic" web sites (like 4chan-style image boards) with child porn so they can have an excuse to shut them down? That CIA?

Here we get a old scam very common in big bus stations. A guy tells somebody that need to board the next bus no matter what, then he try to sell you a valuable item for way cheaper than it cost. Like a gold chain that "worth" 1000 for just 100. Turns out that the item do not have the said value and the thing goes that way, so the victim that was trying to take advantage in a deal over a person in need gets scammed.

What OP is doing is just like that, taking advantage over a person that was trying to take advantage. It's both a crime and morally wrong.

Yes, it's morally wrong because you are profiting from it and the money they gave you is probably stolen.
That should go without saying.

The (somewhat) moral way to do this would be to donate all the profits to scam victims.

So... you're a scammer.

This isn''t exactly a noble purpose.

Might not be right... but logically speaking this is the scammers business model, I am sure they expect a certain level of expense to make a certain level of profit. If this happens too much perhaps the scammers will change tactics or even business.

That Dell data breach is worse than people probably realize....
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
