Is Nintendo's system and tactics of securing piracy free consoles poor and just plain bad?
Every modern Nintendo Console and handheld has been hacked and used to run exploits, and backed up games. If I remember correctly, the 360 systems were nearly impenetrable. Only being able to run backups and Homebrew through hardmods. The Wii U, 3DS, and Wii don't even require hardmods to hack.
So is Nintendo's security awful? Why don't they just use the same system of security that Microsoft used?
To be fair, the PS2 and PS3 can also be easily hacked without opening anything up, and that was released around the same time as the 360 and Wii. But seeing as time was moved forward, and we're more advanced, it makes me wonder how Nintendo hasn't found a way to lock users from exploiting their consoles.
What did make Microsoft's security so good?
As far a I know, it is impossible to play Xbox and Xbox 360 games on the PC. Same goes for PS3 games.
And yet, we have Dolphin and Cemu. What is going on with Nintendo?
It seems that they try so hard to stop this kind of thing, and yet other Consoles have better security than they do.
Again, for the original Xbox, you need a convoluted setup to run CFW and play backups. Years later, we are able to do the same thing with Nintendo consoles without physical tools. Well, depending of FW.
So... if Nintendo upgraded their means of closing off hackers, how would they go about doing so, and why haven't they yet?
Is Nintendo's security really as bad as it seems?
