Hardmod means a modchip must be soldered to your switch's board.

Getting an unpatched Switch is probably easier considering you have to solder the chip in and it costs around $160 to get the chip in the first place. Sell your current Switch and start hunting for an unpatched one.

a version 1 switch can be exploited without a modchip. I just sold mine w/ joycons for $275 w/out dock and cables. I kinda wish I hadn't included the joycons, because most people don't seem to. that's like $50 right there.

I don't know them by heart, but they're the first three letters plus number, then the next six numbers. you need to go to ismyswitchpatched to find out for sure.

If you dont plan on playing online with it. Look for a banned one. Most of the time banned ones are moddable and can get them a lil cheaper

i thought about baned ones but i still want use online for minecraft mk8 splatoon 2 and acnh i needed to replace my broken switch anyway (to clarify broken screen loose usdc port and degraded to fuck battery)

If you dont plan on playing online with it. Look for a banned one. Most of the time banned ones are moddable and can get them a lil cheaper

this way you wont ever have to worry bout a ban and you get best of both worlds. yeah you can use a modded one online but you gottaa take precautions and have to worry bout what your doing. once banned, its irreversible.

Getting 2 switches might not be the best choice, especially since we have emu and sysnand. 1 system could fill both purposes, i don't see the need of getting 2.

yes i know about that but you still run the risk of being banned. its just a risk you take playing online with a modded console. top it off, then you worry about storage space to top it off.
I was running my modded unit online was safe until i did dumb stuff. now its banned. also a v1 isnt cheaper (unless your talkin bout the tablet only). unpatched units here easly go for msrp just because theyre unpatched, not banned, etc.

so if banning is a concern, i would recommend get 2 units. it just takes 1 mistake to screw it all up

I guess that there is ore there will be a online service to play some switch games online, but it can't be the official nintendo switch online, it would brick your switch for sure. But there will maybe have a server, but not connected with nintendo servers. So just such as riiconect24 . You could'nt play with your friends that do not have the same online service and im not sure that there is a service almost published. And if your switch is patched, you need a chip. It's really costing a lot, and it's pretty complicated. You can continue searching for a banned unpatched switch, (only the XA??????????????? Have some CHANCES to be unpatched. I recommend you to choose the more little serial number like XA?000000000012 would be better, i reccomend you to check here in the alphr dot com tuto how to check if your switch is moddable
