Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna fix it. I don't have soldering skills, and there's a high chance the motherboard is dead, seeing as there's something loose inside and my DS won't power on.

Doesn't look like I'll be able to buy a new DS either. The reason it broke was because my dad threw it angrily towards the ground. Says it's the devil's work or something like that.

Uh, wow. Your dad needs to calm the hell down.

Can I have the parts? There's like a 100% chance I can't fix it, but hey, I want the pieces. I like collecting junked electronics for some reason. *cough*

Its the devils work because it lights up

Get a new DS and try to avoid people religiously insane like that - no matter if he's your dad or if such displays or retardation are common in the USA. I mean seriously, usually child care services are less of a grueling experience in the civilized world - the United States excepted.

I mean, yeah, a soldering kit + some shrink sock + a bit of wire + new top screen + new case could likely fix it, and might be a fun experiment, but you might just get off cheaper selling that one for parts and buying a new one on eGay.

You should sell the parts that are still okay on ebay or something. That will help you save up for a new ds if not pay for one completely.

I think all you need is this, a Replacement Bus Wire (you can buy phat ones for $5 at DX but I don't know where you can get Lite ones) and read this.

If I where you I'd buy a nice broken one and put its parts into this one and make a working DS. I got a broken Lite like this for $10. EDIT: I think you don't need to do any soldering.

P.S. Try to make your Dad pay....

Wow, wtf did you do? Play catch with it?
It looks like you might as well buy a new DS or just run a emulator.

He answered already...no, he didn't play catch with it..

And as I said, get the new one.....or try to get it, and you should save this one up (or sell it for spare parts), but you might want to disassemble it to see how it works, maybe try to fix it..could be interesting project!
