Hacking Is it still possible to hack the Wii U?!

I'm considering buying one off ebay within the next 2 months, and I had some questions:

Is it still possible to hack (ex play games listed below for free)

How hard is it to mod a Wii U in comparison of the process of downgrading the 3DS, installing Homebrew on the 3ds , and installing CFW on the 3DS? I successfully completed this, and i'm trying to get a rough idea of the difficulty.

What types of games can you play if you mod a Wii U? I heard you can play DS, GBA, GBC, WII, Wii U, and even 3DS.

If you can play Wii U backups, can you use the online features of the backups, ex playing others levels in Super Mario Maker?

Just follow this guide https://wiiu.guide. there's also helpful threads here at gbatemp as well. And no not 3ds games. Everything else yes. I'd also look at Rom injection, depending on the firmware on it. I'd ask the seller what firmware it's on.

You can't play 3DS games on a Wii U. At this time you can play online but there is a risk of being banned... especially if you mod the games. I've not had issues so far.

In terms of hacks this one is fairly easy. You'll need to buy a DS VC game legitimately, block updates, run the exploit (Haxchi) If want to install games you'll likely want an external hard disk (one that has its own power plug rather than getting power via USB). The drive must be formatted by the Wii U, so you can't have anything else on it. Then you have the space to install the games.

The easy way to get the games is using a PC utility called Wii U USB helper. You download the game on the PC then transfer it over on an SD card, Install with WUP Installer GX2.

Then play the game. There are other details of course but that's the nickel tour.

Really easy! If it's on 5.5.1 you don't even need a computer! If it's on 5.5.2 (latest) it's more complicated, but still easy.
