ROM Hack Is it safe to update firmware?

I need to get on the eShop to buy Smash Bros. DLC but that requires a firmware update.
I don't know if I should after the headache I went through to get Homebrew working.

I did the guide (3ds.guide) all the way through and have A9LH, IronHax, Luma, Homebrew Channel, and a lot of other stuff installed. If I can't update my firmware is there a way to trick eShop into thinking I did update?

Yes it is safe to update. HBL won't work until the payloads get updated.

...Okay sooooo here's the thing. I did try pirating the DLC but the sources I've found say that getting it that way doesn't work very well.

As for not supporting Nintendo they've been kinda pissing me off lately. I'm not going to go into why since it'd be a giant wall of text but I'll tell you I have my reasons.

It's not going to be as easy to update payloads this time. gspwn has been limited. The workarounds may take a long time if even possible. (at least on clean firm, cfw should be possible)

HBL needs new payload, NTR unknown firm (needs update) but all works as normal, i didn't updated yet, im using CTR-HTPPWN to skip updates and play online

After that, press "Refresh Cache" Enjoy!

Yeah, I got the link before it was removed.

I don't know how forums work exactly but I've been on one where it automatically censors swear words.
